Help Choosing Fridge for Farmer's Market Frequenter (Longish)

I'm all over the place on what fridge to get for our new house, so I'm looking for advice.

The cabinetry has been built to accept the typical ~36" wide x ~70" tall full depth refrigerator. There is plenty of walkway clearance and landing space.

Some background - we are empty nesters & this is our future retirement house. We are in Upstate SC so we will have lots of farmer's markets available to us in addition to local farms for eggs, etc. I don't really care about the size of the freezer since I have space for a separate freezer elsewhere. Refrigeration for fresh food is the driver.

I can't even decide between a FD and SxS. This is my takeaway on pluses & minuses:

FD pluses - more elegant looking, food more "organized" in both fresh & freezer compartments, don't have to dig through deep produce bins near bottom of fridge, can get 29 cubic ft fridge with dual cooling.

FD minuses - water & ice through door either takes up fresh food space and/or decreases door storage, have doubts about performance of ice cube maker being in fresh food compartment as opposed to freezer, bins don't seem large enough to hold a good sized head of cabbage.

SxS pluses - plenty of bin & door storage, larger icemaker in freezer where it makes more sense, more than suffcient space for frequently accessed frozen goods like ice cream, lunch box cold packs, homemade soup & mini casseroles.

SxS cons - finding fresh food items often seems like an "archeological dig", looks more old fashioned, folks say they can't fit a frozen pizza box in a SxS (I can in my circa 1992 SxS freezer, so I dunno).

I'm not even sure that I need ice & water through the door, so I may just throw up my hands & look at the Samsung (RFG293HARS) 29 cubic ft FD with no door dispenser. This gives me FD looks, the most fresh food space & puts the icemaker where, IMHO, it belongs. However, I can't find much written up on it & I haven't seen one, yet.

Any thoughts or ideas on what direction to go in are much appreciated.

Also, I don't need a big fridge immediately, so I thought I might limp along on an apartment size fridge what would later go downstairs to the kitchenette while I wait for some new models or more feedback.

Thanks - Jo Ann
