Been working on DS old bedroom, took everything out, laid down 3x3foot carpet squares on top of tile. Was easy and I love them. Paint is dusty rose. Going to put a futon in there, plus computer desk eventually. Trying to keep it at a minimum, it was just full of stuff, which I have all over the house now!

I love that dusty rose. You got me looking around the house to see which room I could paint that color. Good job on the carpet squares, too.

Good job! I'm doing the same thing, which will result in my sharing a computer room with my son. He's already warned me that I have to keep my half NEAT! (Good luck, son.) :-)

It's fun looking at all these beautiful rooms. All different yet all very nice. Wild, I especially love the color of your room. It's strong yet peaceful like Janice says. It strikes me everytime I look at it. It reminds me of my Mom who's been gone 19 years. It was a color she would have picked. I'm kind of jealous of being able to paint walls. All the walls here,with a very few exceptions, are wood. I've even thought of white washing a wall or two but so far haven't done it. I love the wood look too. Janice, you're right that is another camera. That's the first one I had (that took great pictures). The one I'm using most of the time now is smaller and flatter and easier to carry. It also takes closer close-up's.

THANKS, lynninnm! I Googled right away & now I know the history! I've always loved them since my Mom displayed them when they moved & she had a special room for her dolls! These NA ones were NOT her style at all...she loved Barbies...& Hollywood star dolls, presidents, TV celebrities, etc! So I was so tickled she gave them some time ago! PURPLEMOON!...you "enabler," you! Sending that link to those beautiful ebay child planters!!! OHHHH,, so cute....the B&G that they call Dutch & call McCoy...I have all the colors of those...and thought they could be McCoy but never could find the "heart with arrow thru it" marking in any books. Yes, Jan, my book also says that black pcs of Lariat were made but very RARE! I've never seen a pc yet! Thanks! And the Lariat "loops" can break (just like Candlewick!) but I've been fortunate enough to only break 1 off in all these yrs! (Knock on wood!) Thanks, everyone, for all your comments..'ppreciate it! My DH is retired & tackles about anything in woodworking...we like to recycle & use alot of barnwood...I will pass on your sweet comments about the cabinet to him! I had seen a pic of a door cabinet some yrs ago & it looked perfect for this project! luvs...the farmhouse was deteroriating so bad ...very old & yes, had some great pcs in it. My sis & BIL had raised their family in it...they are dairy farmers. The Amish came in & took out the cupboards & lots of usable wood ...my sis & BIL was happy about that because all would be bulldozed...I had asked for the door & the old bath window (my Christmas window post) & they let us take anything we wanted. There are Linux distributions specifically "designed" with older hardware in mind......AntiX might be just what you're looking for.... See the link......... Then again maybe not...Go to distrowatch.com and click on all the "top 100" list items....AntiX runs like a scalded dog on fairly recent hardware with 2GB Ram. Then again, almost everything runs really fast with 2GB RAM and nothing running except what's needed/wanted....And just my experience with the "base" system that underlies AntiX, (SimplyMepis7.0 for more "recent" hardware) it's absolutely unbeatable, and stable as a rock running 4 browsers with lots and lots of windows and tabs open and several programs running too.... And in my experience, no need for anything anti-virus or the like needed..... I never turn this thing off and never disconnect from the WWW, and I never have an issue If you think you are going to run XP w/o issue on that much RAM, it ain't gonna happen, not with anything more than just the base OS running anyway at a pace that you'll measure in less than hours, you won't anyway....But with lots of RAM it will do just fine, just remember to start nothing and only load what you are running. Whew. I thought you were talking only about me. The only photos I have posted of the kitchen are the ones that the photographer took when shooting the backsplash. And now, I have to find all of my photos (from my old blackberry and the old computer and get them uploaded, again, to Photobucket. The Kitchen Folder I had on PB disappeared. I guess I'm guilty of wanting it to be really done. How's this? I keep moving the punch list from place to place as we work on other projects. It was on the doors to the laundry room closet, then the back door and then I found it folded in 1/2 on the washer. Well, last night I grabbed it and taped it up to the inside of the closet in the laundry room (look closely at the photo below of the closet, you can see it). You have to understand...the laundry room ONLY has a Washer & Dryer in it....the walls have been painted, the doors are MIA, the floor has been ripped up....all in anticipation of getting that gorgeous floor that WE won. Want a sneak pic of how it's coming along? I've placed some tiles on the floor with a piece of trim, so here you go. And I promise to post finished kitchen pictures too, soon. I mean I guess you won't notice if the backdraft thingy is in the venting or not, right? (Oh and we've been working on the basement and I redecorated my 20 yo dd's room--been kinda crazy.) Love the color and the carpet squares.Are they expensive?
I use to have one of those rooms,until kids and grandkids decided to move in!LOL I reeeely miss my computer/craft room.Wonder if I'll ever have another one before I'm too old to see the monitor.LOL

Lilliepad, they were originally 18. for a 3x3 ft square, but since DH "knows the owner", he gave them to us for 10 apiece, plus loaned us the glue, which took very little, then we took the can back. I think the whole floor came to about 120.

I love the carpet tiles and the wall color.The tiles are what i have been thinking of using for my sewing/craft/computor room.Are they available at home depot,or did you have to special order them?/

Kathi, we got them at a local carpet store, they only had two patterns, the other one was blue, too blue! Depot or Lowes might have them also.

Very nice Susan. I hope you really enjoy your new space. I've seen them use those carpet squares on HGTV. Sure looks like the ideal way to cover up an existing linoleum or tile floor. We painted my Mother's livingroom in dusty rose years ago, it was really pretty.

Susan, would you mind sharing what brand and color name your dusty rose is? I just love it and think it'd go nicely in our TV/computer room. With everybody around here painting, it has me in the mood, too!

Looks very nice. On HGTV they talk about those carpet tiles and how easy they are to apply. I love that dusty rose color.
