Thanks for the input. I too think the thing looks like a baby aspirator. It's the nozzels, that would have to make it work right. I also use the toothpick method for small seeds. However, when they get down to the size of poppy or petunia, they seem to adhere to the end of the wetted toothpick, more than releasing to the growing medium. And as far as using that for seed that is as fine as dust, for me, the toothpick method doesn't work at all. I was hoping this contraption would maybe work. Thinking, that it is constructed so that the seed will not go into the squeeze bulb. As I mentioned, if they do go past the nozzel, they are lost. I'm sure you know how surface tension can hold these smallest of seed to whatever they are on. The garden supply that I was thinking of buying it from says (I contacted them) it will be fine. I'd rather though have opinions of someone who has actually tried it with begonias and the like, rather than depened on their customer service person and the description in the catalog, which states it "can" handle even dust-like seed. A supply of toothpicks and a cup of water is lots cheaper than the $20 this will cost. --I'd could almost buy a good proprogation book with the savings. If anyone has more ideas, I'd like to hear: On either this seeder or how do you handle, the sowing of dust-fine seed? --the best I've been able to do is mix them with sand in a salt/pepper shaker and sprinkle that over the germinating medium. I've found though, that even with that method, the sand usually covers the seed; then, germination fails since they can't get light. Bob T

I went to BJ's Warehouse and purchased an industrial sized bottle of crushed red pepper. I figured the less surface area, the fewer dissipating effects from rain, vs. the ground red pepper. I sprinkled that stuff around my gardens and it burned a bit if you got too close to the ground. Then I got some anti-squirrel dry mixture stuff containing black pepper and a bunch of other nasty stinky stuff and sprinkled that around, too. I am seeing a couple of new divots each day, but nothing like I was seeing. The 2 or 3 divots I'm now seeing are still very annoying!

1. Be someone trustworthy. In ALL areas. In love, in finances, etc. 2. Cover each others back. In other words, that you both know without a shadow of a doubt, that your spouse believes in you and will stand up for you. 3. Do the small things for each other that tell each other they matter. Greet them with a big smile when they come home. Sew on a button. Bother to make dinner special. Tell each other how much you appreciate them, and that you value them (tell them what it is you value about them)! Let them know that you also appreciate what they do for the family. 4. Be willing to bite your tongue and let things slide......................................once in awhile. Extend grace where you can. 5. Be able to forgive and move on. 6. Try your best not to badmouth each others family. It only makes everyone defensive. We all have flaws. 7. Do not join into "husband bashing" with your friends or family...I see women do this all the time. It is extremely disloyal (would you like your DH sitting around with all the men you know telling them awful things about you? Then don't do it to to him!!! Besides, for those of you who indulge in this past time, keep in mind that it tells other women that things aren't so perfect between you two, and lets another woman know she may be able to squeeze in. Because she won't believe all the bad things you tell her, regardless of what she says. Why, because women think that "she can change him". 8.Be each others biggest fan. Encourage one another. Ask about each others day, and actually listen and care. 9. Do not flirt, or hang around flirts. When one is exhausted, the other rallies. When one is discouraged, the other can encourage. Smile... and be the kind of person that "you" would like to come home to. Simply...love each other. It softens the hard edges in life. LEARN TO PERSEVERE...like an athlete!!!! There will be times in marriage where you feel like running. When you wonder what in the world you were thinking when you chose this person. When you look at them some days, and are not even sure you like the person...let alone love them. Hang in there. Just hang in there, and remember that another day will come when you will feel like the luckiest person in the world to have this same person. Life can be funny that way. Everyone pitch in and keep the house decent. No one wants to come home to a pigsty, and no one feels happy, let alone romantic in one. It weighs heavy on everyone in the house. Believe in something bigger than you both. There are probably more but it is late, so I will call it a day. By the way, they are not necessarily in the order of importance. Just what popped into my thoughts as I was typing.

Doodle, you should have said... no woman in her right mind would marry a man who is the sole support of his ex! Sure, there are lots of guys that pay spousal support and it's a foolish woman that relies 100% on her ex's support... to be financial dependent on someone else is taking a risk that they won't lose their job, lose their assets, or die without providing for her. Then where would that leave her? Well, look at my DH's ex for example. She married at 24 & split from hubby #1 at 25... divorce is still not final but he's been paying support for 12 years. Some of it is temporary spousal support so if he decides to no longer pay it, he will likely get it stopped since it was a short marriage & she's been a student for at least 5 years.... plenty of time to get a degree (though she hasn't) and she's had 12 years to get a job, though she hasn't. She has relied on his money for 12 years.... she is now working just enough to keep DCSS from suspending her license for support she owes for SD. She works 20-25 hrs a week @ $8 an hour, not a living wage in my opinion. Well, she is 36... 37 in a few months and has NEVER held a real job! She has not finished her AA degree, though she's called herself a student for 12 years. Her older daughter is 13, almost 14... so she's got another 4 years in child support, which I would almost guarantee her husband will want to finalize the divorce and stop the spousal support too. What is she going to do? She's lived with her 70 year old mom until she moved in with her current BF who has said he has no intention of marrying her... well, besides the fact he can't marry her since she's married already, he is seeing her as a financial burden. He was after her to get a job for a while because his things were being repossessed but she wouldn't work until DCSS was going to take her license. So, in 4 years will this guy still be her BF? Her mom will be 74-75 on a fixed income & she will be 40 with no work history or education. That's what can happen when you do nothing with yourself but rely on someone else to support you all your life. and even if your ex is wealthy and he does provide for you in his will or you have a legal agreement... who's to say he will be ABLE to fulfill the agreement or that there will be anything left to will? The stock market crashing, the housing market taking a dive, or maybe a few bad business decisions can ruin someone. It is shocking how little Michael Jackson had at the time of his death... you never know what will happen and to tie your financial future on what someone else does, well that is foolish.
