If I buy a blanket or large bed item which comes in a zippered bag, I always save it because it comes in handy for something like this. Do you have any large plastic bags from shopping?

Urgggh I knew there was a reason to save those zippered bags! LOL I used to save them and then after awhile get tired of them getting in my way and toss them. Shoot. No large zippered bags and only the regular plastic grocery bags, its already too large to fit in a grocery bag.

Guess I need to go shopping for something large! ;)

I prefer working on small projects. I have made various hats and scarves. I like things I can stuff in a small bag and take with me. I have made lots of knitted washcloths. Cast on 35 to 40 stitches, K or P, work till it looks square, then bind off. I even made an Aran afghan knit in squares then sewn together.

Sorry not help here, I just leave them on the couch (German Shedder..oops Shepard knows not to climb on couch, and yapper dog doesn't shed). I do have a couple of recycle grocery bags I keep stuff in for when I'm "on the go".

Well, maybe you need a new comforter for your bed?! LOL! One thing does lead to another!

I use a tote bag for large projects then I can hang it up out of the way on a hook or something. Do you have one of those re-usable shopping bags? That might be big enough for it.

I don't have the dog problem, but would think, a rubbermaid container with lid should do the trick?

I crochet and usually end up laying it on my coffee table..LOL If I am crocheting an afghan, I will put it in a large tote bag.

Just curious. What keeps your yarn from snagging on the zipper of the bag the bedding came in?

I keep mine in a fabric tote which makes it easy to grab and take with me. Especially when going to appointments were waiting is usually long.

I also use a fabric tote bag when I was working on the sweater I recently finished. I have decided that would be my last large knitting project. I'm just knitting and crocheting hats for an organization that collects them to sent to the Kodiak Islands. Dottie

This brought back a memory of when my kids were preschoolers. My Dad used to do upholstering. He found an old hassock, redid it in a dark gold leather material, and gave it to me. It's rather big (I still have it stored upstairs). It has a fliptop on it that opens to a very roomy storage area. To keep the kids out of my crocheting, I'd put it in there when I wasn't actually working on it.

When I was working on Kalie's wedding dress, I stuffed it all into a king size pillow case! I would just take out the area that I was working on, and the majority of it was still covered....I toted it that way back and forth to the office while I was working on it! =)

That was going to be my answer, a pillowcase.

Judging by the amount of animal hair on everything I knit, I would say "underneath a sleeping dog or cat".

Do you have any big trash bags? That might work. A scarf is the biggest knitted thing I make, so I just keep it in a fabric tote bag, but I end up with dog hair no matter how hard I try to be careful.

Moni gave you my answer. Use a rubbermaid tote with lid. I keep mine in fabric tote bags, but don't usually make afghans, so don't need to worry about the size.

I have Crown Royal bags saved for toting my sock projects around! Pretty purple!

I have a large canvas bag I won from Hancock's fabric store. It has a zipper across the top and a separate zippered pocket on the inside. Thats where I keep a project until I get it finished. I am usually doing weaving on afghan lace or a baby quilt.

I bought a frozen food re-useable cloth tote at Wal-Mart.It's great for the larger stuff.AND it's only 2 bucks!!

I use a round plastic laundry basket when throws/afghans get larger, so I can just pick up my work and crochet for awhile without a lot of undoing zippers, etc. No furbabies right now. I do keep finished things in the zippered bags. Love to see what I've done and it keeps them clean.
