Oh brrrrrrr. Old man winter just won't give up.

Still coming down here in Montgomery county,Pa. A wet, heavy snow, and, we have above ground electric wires, and large trees.
Fire hydrant across the street is almost snow covered.
It's a wet, heavy snow.
AND...more snow in the forecast for tomorrow night.

Oh, Monica, I am near you. My poor cherry laurels are nearly touching the ground. I will bundle up shortly and sweep off the snow. Across the street is a stand of white pines. Every time we have heavy snow or winds, I can hear the branches cracking.

I just hope the power stays on. We have numerous outages all around us. I don't have a smart phone, so once the power goes out, I am without internet -- not to mention heat! At least I can light my gas stove to cook. I did grind some coffee beans so I can make coffee in the french press.

I have absolutely had it with this winter weather. This snow is so heavy I don't think I can shovel it. Two more storms are predicted over the next week. We'll see what happens. Wednesday may be heavy rain, so I cleared the downspouts yesterday.

Enough already!

It's been snowing since early morning in northeast PA. This was not forecast! We were expecting flurries. Ha! My Scrabble club meeting was cancelled--which is good because I wouldn't have driven in anyway.

What is not so good is that a lot more snow is predicted to fall tomorrow night into Wednesday, and then another foot or so Sunday night into Monday. I hate those overnight snowstorms because my kids have long commutes in the morning.

It was so warm on Saturday . . . my DS wanted us to work on firewood, and I went along with it, whining every so often that we needn't bother because winter was over. LOL I knew it wasn't true, of course, but I wasn't expecting to get hammered with snow two days later.

It sure is pretty to look at!

...as I sit here in 86 degree weather in Ft Lauderdale.

Supposed to begin the snow in central Illinois tomorrow noonish. 4 - 8 inches before 4 a.m. on Wednesday. And then, the temperatures drop (again), with a predicted high of 6ð on Thursday.

Redeeming thing? On the 14th, we fly to San Francisco to begin a 25 day cruise to Hawaii and Mexico! Oops! Sorry, I didn't mean to do that to you!

This heavy PA snow is for the birds. We got a ton and the trees are bending over. I spent hours outside trying to clear branches before the next onslaught . Temps will dip to 16 tonight and everything will turn to ice. I walked the dogs but tomorrow might be a different story as it might all be ice then. Plus we have major leak in our kitchen sink.

Take a snow shovel, or a board or a stick with a bit of a flat area across the top end (so that the branch doesn't slip off), lift the branch that you're worried about and give it a gentle shake, back and forth, to encourage some of the mounted snow to continue its journey to the ground. If the stick is too narrow and the branch falls off, possibly the drop along with the extra weight will cause it to break off.

(Recommend wearing a parka with hood pulled all the way up, and tied if there's a string, during this operation). Or ... using one of your big, come-hither smiles ... get some sucker to do it for you.

Yup, more snow. And then more snow. Plenty of exercise, but still not the worst on record.

When we get a heavy snowfall from February to May and it's especially wet and the branches on my trees start to bend, we shake off the trees to keep them intact.

Here in Long Island, ,we're dealing with our second big snowstorm this week, with more expected this weekend. I am so tired of shovelling! And my feet are perpetually wet!

We got another 5-6" last night with icy rain on top. And there's supposed to be another storm coming this wkend.

And I am STILL not going to wish for summer, hahaha.

Here in central Indiana we got 8 inches which started yesterday afternoon, more snow (possibly more) for the coming weekend.
DH is home, laid off work.....I am happy to have the love of my life with me, but 24/7? Eek.

We are getting hammered again in Toronto and it is heavy snow. My little snow eater wants to go out - again. I can't stand it.

We got more snow overnight and steady snowing since. It's now tapered off. I went out and shovelled the sidewalks and part of the parking lot for the landlord. (yes, I did, Eccentric) LOL

When they get home, they'll either finish it by hand, or use the blower. We're running out of room to put the snow. The banks are getting too high to throw it with the shovel.
