I love it. If you haven't seen it....

There is a Guy interviewing for a job with a stain on his shirt.

The interviewer can't hear a word the applicant is saying because he is so bothered by the stain.

I relate!

I use to work with a Gal that had a Huge Wart on her nose. I could scarcely listen to anything she said because of the "wart". LOL!

DH and I laughed so hard at that commercial! Then we just lost it completely toward the end when the stain starts yelling! ROTFL! It's so true, and very clever!

There's a guy at work whose eyes go in different directions. Very good-looking, but it is hard to look him in the face when I talk to him. I don't know which eye to look at.

When exterior materials of different coefficients of expansion are rigidly attached to one another, they will eventually fail. Therefore, the attachment detail of veneer materials not only needs to allow water to drain, it must allow the materials to move independently. This is why the original "brick veneer" system had a cavity between the structural wall and a wythe of brick 4" thick and the brick was supported on a ledge and attached to the wall with flexible ties. A stone veneer wall was the same with 4" thick stone. I've designed and built many buildings with this system. Designing a tile-like cladding for a wood framed wall is difficult even in warm, dry climates. Some good systems were described in this thread 5 years ago. I'm not sure why cultured stone would perform worse than natural stone except that it absorbs more moisture, however, the joints do that anyway and in the photos above, the cultured stone doesn't appear to have cracked.

Billy is correct. The reason professionals don't like to use it is because if it starts to get the least bit dry-ish as you are installing it, it is unbelievably hard to wipe the grout - which is now gluing itself to the tile - off of the top of the tile. Think of epoxy glue getting dry and how hard that would be to deal with. If you just do a little at a time, and really pay attention, having a helper continually bringing you fresh water to rinse your sponge with, it will last forever and not stain.

I recommend PolyWhey for a clear waterbased finish, it's a fabulous finish -- uses milk whey instead of urethane. Has virtually no odor and dries in about an hour. Amazing stuff. Did my staircase with it last year (it dried before the cats even woke from their nap) and it wears like iron. I've switched over to using it entirely for any poly project. There's also BioShield Wood Counter Finish, OSMO, SoyGuard and other oil types that work well and can be recoated easily. You can stain under/with any of these using non-aniline (food-safe) stains. I remember about 40 years ago, when I used to carry a transistor radio up to my ear 24/7 and the only stations were AM, a commercial for a feminine itch product came on. I still to this day cannot believe what I heard. Sound of door opening and a startled mother saying" "Suzie, what are you doing?" and Suzie replying something about how she couldn't stop scratching the itch! I got the most offensive picture in my mind at the age of 10ish, not knowing what they were talking about but knowing it was tasteless. Still remember that all these years later.

The first time I saw that commercial was 1 time to many. I guess it's not my kind of humor. I find it very irritating.

I still laugh at it.
I think that's the point Betty...LOL...getting annoyed at stains.

I find myself leaning forward, rying to decipher what the stain is saying...how crazy is that?

I must admit....after about 3 times...it gets annoying. But, I still like the message.

I once knew a Personal Manager who walked potential Employee's to their car. He judged employee's by the condition of their car. Eek! Mine has bird poop on it right now. LOL!
