Julie I can understand the heat thing. I can no longer work out in the heat of the day due to High blood pressure. I can't even stand out in the sun without feeling the effects of the sun. It never bothered me before and after talking to my dad he said the same thing happened to him. I now only work outside in the early morning and late evening's. I was like you. a really hyper person not really realizing that I was cause I lived with it, but I was never ever still, family members would ask me can't you just sit for awhile LOL. Not if I didn't have to. Having to slow down just kills me. My mind races with what I wish or want to do but can't cause of inability to do them. I had a Risotomy done last Monday and it is showing effects that can happen when they burn the nerves, this is the only way I get relief from the pain. While making a sandwich for lunch I was holding the bread spreading may-o on it and my hand started shaking bad, enough so that I had to put the bread down or end up having it fall on the counter. Risotomy's can also lead to seizures. I have three more to go through and hope nothing happens. The bad part of it is that it only last for maybe a year and have to go through it all over again. I am scared of what's to come and what type of life I will have. I don't know how I will handle being in a wheel chair and depended on people to do thing's for me. I'm not that type of person to ask for help in this way. My grandfather was like that he'd do thing's he shouldn't have done risking his health. It's so hard to realize that we have to sit back and do only what our bodies allow us.

Phyl--I've been thinking really hard and doing some "back-reading" and I can't figure out which thread you may be referring to! Was it on this the "lighter side" or the other "discussion only" side? I can't even remember which thread it was that I saw you had posted and realized you are "new" to us! Glad you like our "company"! We do have fun--and we do "inform" as best we can!! janice

That is so sad about your horse and I'm very sorry for your friends. I just can't imagine the uncertainty of going through such an ordeal. I, too, am ready for the new year and hoping for less stressful times. DH got laid off 11/4 and we are still unsure whether or not the company will have to pay unemployment. They may be exempt, as they are exempt to paying overtime. Still waiting to hear after 8 weeks. Then, our GS had to go back to living with his mom. That ripped our hearts out. On the up side, he was with us for about 2 hours on Christmas day. We wanted him to spend the night but she wouldn't let him. Right now she would still have a hard time getting him to leave if he stayed very long. Hope you've been sleeping better!

Is unfortunate that the best long/repeat blooming vines seem to also often be among the most aggressive. Coral honeysuckle seems like a great alternative - very pretty this time of year and does repeat a bit for us throughout the growing season. Also appreciate the somewhat different look it gets throughout the year being semi-evergeen in north Texas. Crossvine and Carolina Jessamine are native evergreen spring bloomers that behave themselves around our neighborhood. All parts of jessamine are toxic, which rules it out for some folks/locations. We've not had problems with crossvine spreading, but it does try to use all its space; could become a lot of vine for your narrow arbor in 5 or 6 years. Some clemantis varieties are good possibilities not always considered in Texas. We coddled our big box 'Jackmanii' vine for years, and it hated us for it. Divided and moved the roots when the tree it had been growing on was taken down. Found it is MUCH happier in full sun living off the weekly (when needed) lawn watering. The newer native hybrids are also nice (and tough), though don't have the large flowers. Slower covering than others since can take a couple years to get established.
