Don't paint the links holding the crystals together white. Leave them as they are.

Agree, leave the connectors alone. They will tarnish over time if they're still super shiny now and not be so noticeable, if that's what bothers you. It's an incredible hassle to take chandelier chain apart and put it back together again, too. Very fiddly work and definitely you won't gain anything by doing it.

If you really want to wrestle with it, I believe you can get the bow tie connectors in sliver metal finishes from most chandelier parts shops, but it's going to be a lot of work to change all those.

I wouldn't paint a thing! Brass is back. Every single hardware maker has introduced new brass tones in the last couple of months. And even if it weren't, shiny crystals with shiny metal looks better than shiny crystals with white.

When I replaced several of the strands with vintage crystals that had tarnished wire, the silver ones looked out of place. I hand painted them with a product I found at Michaels that actually adheres and reacts to the metal. Just an fyi for anyone who wanted to change the finish of the metal wire....tedius, but can be done and looks completely natural.

I painted mine white. I left the connectors in their original (aged) finish. I thought it was a nice contrast.

I wouldn't paint the connectors unless I tried it with them as is and found it really bothered me. But I also wouldn't paint that fixture, especially if that is truly crystal or it is a higher end fixture and the finish is in good shape. If it is glass, it probably doesn't matter that much, but I think the colors reflected in crystal will be prettier with the metal finish than with white. I also think of white fixtures are a recent thing that will soon seem dated while the metal finish is more classic. I may be wrong, but it seems to me that every time white fixtures come into fashion, they are fairly short lived and I like that fixture enough to want to keep it around.

Thank you so much for all the responses. My problem is I have never ever liked brass. Most of the connectors look dark brown.

Oh my gosh, I could cry imagining that beautiful chandelier painted! It's so gorgeous the way it is! I could make suggestions for painting it white, but my gut says it's prettier as-is.
