HELP! Need a neutral, airy paint color for bedroom with cream furn
Comments (2)This is probably better in the Home Decorating Forum, but I will throw in my $.02. I have a room with cream furniture too and my target color is going to be Harvest Time or Honeymoon, both of which are goldish-beige. Harvest Time: Honeymoon: (I think the Harvest Time thumbnail is not accurate. Looks too peachy in that link. It is not really peachy at all. I've used it before in a hallway) The only other neutral category is more beige, less gold. I recently did a bathroom in BM Kangaroo, which went great with the cream vanity. These of course are just starting points.. zillions of shades lighter and darker to choose from. Here's a lighter beige that would contrast with cream furniture. Almond bisque: The gold-beige colors would work well with pastels green and blue, but probably not pinks. The beiges would work well with red. To be more non-commital to future choices of other elements in the room, I would lean towards lighter shades. The lighter the color, the more versatile usually. I personally prefer mid-tone colors for more impact. But if you can, it is best to have the overall color scheme settled before painting. Reds vs. pastels are very different visions....See MoreNeed Help Please...color for daughters north facing bedroom
Comments (7)I think you're on the right track with a pale yellow, but I have a feeling that the bright accent colors will look better with a cleaner wall color, like maybe Jersey Cream or Full Moon. Ivoire is toned/grayed down and it may look muddy with lime, turquoise, etc. I also worry about potentially muddy colors looking even more so in north facing rooms. I like to keep colors clear and clean in north light. My DD wanted a deep blue room and we went with a BM Historic color, also somewhat toned down, not a clear blue. Instead of the off white and toned down gold I thought we'd be using, she opted for lime green. I think a cleaner blue would have been better for that accent. Luckily, she doesn't give a hoot about those kinds of subtleties and I only go into her room under duress. :-) If you have a Ben Moore dealer near you, take a look at Ambiance. It is a pale yellow with just a touch of pink in it. I used it in my north-facing laundry room and it is very subtle and pleasant. I think it would work well as a backdrop for your daughter's brights...will let them take the stage....See MoreBest sage paint color for a north east facing bedroom?
Comments (5)I don't have any color suggestions, but...you can't accurately see the colors when they're painted on top of a colored wall. You can get some poster board, cut it in quarters, and paint those (maybe pick your top few colors from your samples) and set those against the wall in various parts of the room and look at them at different times of day. Make sure they have white behind them (another piece of posterboard) so you can see the colors accurately and not have the current yellow wall color change them....See MoreThoughts on these greenish-blue colors in a northeast-facing bedroom?
Comments (12)Hi, yes! After sampling BM Par Four 470, Woodlawn Blue, and Healing Aloe; and SW Windowpane and Rainwashed; I opted for BM Healing Aloe. The painters got it on the walls today and it is very pretty. The green is more subdued and silvery in the cool light, but still shows up, which is what I wanted. The other colors I tried were very pretty, but I wasn't feeling the more saturated blue-greens Woodlawn and Rainwashed). Par Four was a great contender, but too similar to the old color on our walls. SW Windowpane was sooo close. I'd like to try it elsewhere but felt like the subtle green in Healing Aloe would feel "warmer" than the blue in winter. Windowpane is beautiful though. Good luck with your choices!...See Moredawnp
