Purples aren't cool color if you choose the pinkish/reddish purple vs. the blueish ones. Same with lime (chartreuse) which has golden undertone. The colder green would be the ones that has blue undertone (sage, silvery green).

I think warm sand + pinkish purple + lime green would be a nice combo.

I think you're on the right track with a pale yellow, but I have a feeling that the bright accent colors will look better with a cleaner wall color, like maybe Jersey Cream or Full Moon. Ivoire is toned/grayed down and it may look muddy with lime, turquoise, etc. I also worry about potentially muddy colors looking even more so in north facing rooms. I like to keep colors clear and clean in north light.

My DD wanted a deep blue room and we went with a BM Historic color, also somewhat toned down, not a clear blue. Instead of the off white and toned down gold I thought we'd be using, she opted for lime green. I think a cleaner blue would have been better for that accent. Luckily, she doesn't give a hoot about those kinds of subtleties and I only go into her room under duress. :-)

If you have a Ben Moore dealer near you, take a look at Ambiance. It is a pale yellow with just a touch of pink in it. I used it in my north-facing laundry room and it is very subtle and pleasant. I think it would work well as a backdrop for your daughter's brights...will let them take the stage.

I'm going to tread lightly here as Amy knows much more about color than I do. That said, I do have Ivoire in our entry, LR, DR and hallways.

There is red (maroon) in the paint formula, so if I were to use a purple with it, I'd use a reddish one, like Bella was explaining.

When I place any of my colorful Terre e Provence pottery against the wall, there is no clash of any sort. But, Ivoire is muted and is more of a backdrop color than one that is = to another. That is exactly what I wanted for my space but don't know what you are expecting a color to do in yours.

I think one certainly could do a muted lime, soft teal and grayed purple with the Ivoire, but I don't expect that what's on this little girl's mind. My hunch is her colors will be more electric...and while that Terre e Provence pottery is lively, it is not electric. The Navaho White, top of the same strip, might work, but I'm just not feeling the love for Ivoire with super bright colors.

Newhome3, I was just looking at JCP for an example and saw they now have Little Miss Matched bedding sets...like the socks. Oh, they are sooo cute! I wish my DD were 12 again.

No, wait a minute....I don't. Then I'd have to do 13, 14 and half 15 all over again! :-)

Amysrq, THANKYOU SO MUCH for that link to the JCP bedding....I am waiting for DD to come off the bus, and can't wait to show these to her!! I just know she is going to love these comforters:) And you are right...think electric limes, purples and blues!! Those are her choices,and I too am thinking that the Ivoire is just not jiving with these colors.
Perhaps, (I hope), being 12 yrs old, she won't care if the walls coordinate with her must have colors....

Whatever color you decide on for the foyer, etc, can't you repaint DD's room at a later date? The ceiling will already be done and the room shouldn't be that much work to do. Kids bedrooms look cute in a different color from the rest of the house.

I'd hate to think of you picking out a palette for such a large area of your home, just to coordinate with accessories in one room.

Pick a color for DD's room that will complement SW Ivoire, yet go with the electric colors she loves. I'm thinking something like SW Fleeting Green.
