Nah I don't want to take the time and effort on them. I do love to see them get a double dose when my good friend Karma comes along. She's far more brutal can I could ever be. ;-)

I'm assuming you're referring to people who have done someone wrong.

I dont mind seeing them get a taste of their own medicine ... but try to refrain from being the person to dish it out to ensure that other people dont form an opinion that *I* need to be taught a lesson/manners, etc.

No. Why would I lower myself to their level?

I generally leave that to the universe--most people do eventually reap what they so.

However, I will say I do enjoy it when someone gets what they have coming to them. Just as an example--a bridal shop screwed over a good friend of mind who happened to be blind. How low is that? Well, when I heard the shop had their electric lights turned off for non-payment, a few months later, I have to admit, hearing about the payback kind of tickled me.

But it's not worth lowering yourself to their level--means you have to watch your back so that Karma doesn't start nipping at your heals, too.

Once in a while I dish it out, but like Wildchild, I'm a believer in Karma too. Think OJ. I like social pressure also.

No, I'm not like that, and it doesn't make me feel good to get back at people. I just don't have anything to do with them.

I like to think Karma does a better job of that than I would, also. In general, know-it-alls, jerks and offenders don't recognize their negative behavior anyway . . . so they probably wouldn't "get it" if you did give them a return spoonful.

I hate tail gaters. One morning a guy was tailgaiting me. I let him pass then followed him and tailgated him for about a mile. I started to think, what if he hits the brakes? I'll be killed, probably not him. I stopped and never did that again.

But usually fairly successful at resisting.

In a congregation a number of years ago, a family had a daughter who was intellectually disadvantaged, another that died after a battle with cancer when her daughter was about 4, they had trouble with farming, though he was a good farmer, a close relative was killed in a vehicle-train accident ... (plus some other difficulties that I've forgotten) and their barn burned down.

People used to shake their heads and say that they had suffered far more than alomost everyone and that one might say that any family deserved.

I find it hard to believe, though frequently it may happen, that those that do nasty things usually or necessarily get their just deserts in the end.

I think (hope?) I've learned to treat others in a better way then perhaps they sometimes treat me/others. As a smart pastor once preached in a sermon, who is the potter? The point was to not let other people be my "potter" and craft my behavior, rather let God craft my behavior. So I try not to mirror others' bad behavior.

OJ, I think I'm missing your point. I don't quite understand. I don't think that those people in your former congregation had bad situations because of nasty things they'd done previously. But I'm not sure if you think so or not.

I think that nasty or impolite people are likely more unhappy than those who are the opposite. I know that when I have bad days and behave negatively, I'm unhappy both with the circumstances and with myself.

As Pixistix said, the jerks don't recognize their own behavior. However, if it is pointed out to them that they deserve what they have gotten, perhaps there is hope for them after all.

i came close just today...dil is forever "ditching" us, and ds ends up coming to family functions alone...she's having an avon party soon, and and while i'm not doing anything that night, i almost sent regrets...frankly i'm going for him not her.

Only with my kids growing up. I always felt it was a good learning lesson. Especially if they said something hurtful, or skipped their chores.
Daughter did not clean the kitty litter, but instead covered it with more litter. She slept with that box in her room for a week..whew!
Rooms were not cleaned, door knobs came off...
Stuff like that.
They are the cleanest kids ever now. Go figure.

I don't give them a taste from myself and I don't know if I ever really believed in Karma...BUT...the lady at work that tried to get me and another girl fired and was really,really nasty to us for awhile....well,guess who's getting either laid off or fired tomorrow??? Yep! Her!I "sorta" feel bad for her because she just bought a new truck and is in the process of moving.BUT,she brought it on herself by being nasty and not doing her job...Karma is my friend!

i do believe in karma, i also believe you can make your own karma. i have believed that since i was a teenager and it has served me well. that said i do not dole out medicine but i do enjoy hearing of the consequences that happen to people via their own downfalls, like stupidity :-)

trinitytx, i have to say i have the utmost respect for your way of parenting! i truely believe people learn from lessons and consequences of actions. well most do and those who don't provide amusement lol ~ liz

Very few have wronged me in any tangible way, and all who have also had karma bite them in the b###. I try not to retaliate (and usually succeed, though I may fume for quite a while), because that creates my own bad karma, which may come to pass at any unexpected time.
