That seems like a lot of hot flashes so dress cooloer, drinke plenty of water. Unfortunately, hot flashes all seem to cycle where you think you aren't having them and they rare up. Hope all goes well. Deanna

Wow, thanks for posting this alisande, I know just what you mean, but wasn't aware they actually have a name for it! I don't feel 'dizzy' in the sense of the surrounding area spinning, but I'll get what I call a nauseous head feeling, because I tell people it's my head that feels nauseous, not actually my stomach. I know exactly how you feel about the sunlight coming through the trees. I live near a major city, and whenever we drive into the downtown area, I have to look down if it's a sunny day, as the sun shining between each high rise building as you pass them at a fast speed gives a sensation of flickering lights which is also disturbing. I wear those solar shield sunglasses that do help a bit if I'm the driver and unable to totally look away from the source of the problem.

My sister will be 70 in November. Her meno started at age 56. Still has hot flashes quite bad, wakes her several times at night and several during the day. She told me she used hormones for about a year. Didn't really help - still had flashes. Her Dr put her on Effexor for about a year and she said that helped the most as she was able to sleep. With it she had some flashes but it did lessen them. She is currently not on anything and is contemplating going back on the Effexor. My mom had bad flashes into her 70's. She never used hormones. She passed at age 78. I started meno 4 yeas ago, now 58. Still flash but the bioidenticals help a bit. Still flash but less, meaning I might not have to change my clothes.
