It's terrifying :(

I'm 42 yrs old, and I've been experiencing perimenopausal night sweats for 2 years. And now in the past 4 months I've had this very strange feeling in my head, and it's very scary. It comes on suddenly, and it's hard to describe. It feels like an all of a sudden "almost" dizzy feeling, it's not a light headed feeling, and it's not actually dizzy, it's just very weird. And everytime it happens it scares the bajeebers out of me, it's like "oh no, what's happening" feeling. I don't know if it's perimenopausal stuff or what. Has anyone experienced something like this?

I have that too - kinda like a phantom train rushing through your brain - woosh! I am 49, just entered menopause in December. It can be a scary feeling for sure.

Hi Jellyman- Good to have you back... we missed you for a little while there... Hi YoleTrapper- First of all, I'm a pruning newbie myself, so don't take anything I say too seriously... Also, when it comes to fruit, Don is one of the most knowledgeable people here, so you're in good hands. The typical advice I here here, especially to newer growers, is that the right time to prune is when you have the pruners in your hand. Often newbies get so hung up on when to prune, and when the time finally comes, they feel ill-prepared, forget, or they chicken out. It's actually better just to do the pruning whenever you get to it than to run the risk of not doing it at all. You'll make some mistakes, but then you'll see how the tree reacts and learn from it. Nobody is an expert the first day. In general, with dormant pruning (in the winter), the tree often doesn't notice the pruning at all. It goes on it's merry way like it never even happened. With summer pruning, it can often stimulate a good amount of growth at that spot. Since Don commented on your trees being a bit spindly, he may have been trying to stimulate the trees a little bit. (that's just my speculation though). But again, some would argue that it's more important that you simple do the pruning than get hung up on when it's done. Also, in regards to "...everything I've read online", keep in mind, to a certain extent, especially when it comes to gardening, it seems for every bit of advice going one way, there's another bit of advice going another way. You've got to understand your source very closely. Sometimes conflicting advice is simply because with gardening, differences in location can mean very different courses of action are the appropriate ones. There a lot of good videos on YouTube for pruning fruit trees. They say a pic is worth a thousand words, and I think a video is worth many times more. I would start by spending a good amount of time watching a lot of them, and then come back and ask some more questions. Speaking of that... I think I'll do the same. First, your neighbor may be living in the building because he, too, likes the great rent and convenient location. Or he may have moved in years ago, before the building became full of college students. So just his presence in the building is not creepy. But, as to how to deal with his banging on the wall--this seems to be the major complaint? Start documenting. Every single time he bangs on the wall, note the time and date and what you were doing. "11 pm, Tuesday, Nov. 25. Reading in bed. BF out at library. Banging on the wall started at 11:04 and continued until 11:15." Note the screaming, as well. And if it wakes you up or is loud enough that you need to turn up the tv, note that. Get two or three weeks of documentation. Call the office and set up an appointment with the manager to go over this. Don't say what the appointment is about, if you feel she will refuse to see you about your neighbor. If you absolutely cannot get an appointment with the manager, copy your documentation and mail it to the manager, registered mail (or some other way that requires the office to sign for and acknowledge the mail). Ask them nicely what they are going to do about the problem. It would be best if you could also indicate what you would like the management to do--get the screaming and banging to stop, move you to another unit. That gives them something concrete to work with. "I have a creepy neighbor and don't feel safe," is completely subjective. There's no way they can go to this man and say, "Don't be so creepy." But they can go and tell him to stop banging on your walls. Call the police on the non-emergency number and ask if there is anything they can do. This is really dependent on the laws where you live. Whatever you do, do not call the neighbor creepy or dangerous. People will be less likely to work with you when you are making judgements about him. Stick to the facts and to the behaviors you want changed--no more screaming, no more banging on the walls. This is completely reasonable. To ask for him not to look out the windows is not reasonable, and will likely get you less help, rather than more. At the very least, if this is a large building, the management should be able to move you to a different apartment at some point.

Ooh, you sound like you're handy, Brown! Wish I was. All these new appliances - it's like too many new toys all at once. Every time the fridge drops an ice cube into the tray, I jump. Still figuring out how the dishwasher works...and how to load dishes into it optimally. The stove still scares me (and I think I accidentally removed one of those "don't remove me" tags that I thought the plumber had mistakenly left behind), and I haven't tried the microwave yet. Maybe tomorrow night. I think I'm finally starting to like the undercabinet lighting. I'm used to having very little light in the kitchen, so all this bright light is weird to me. It's all a toy. If I could trade in my fridge for a counterdepth model (and if I could trade in my carpenter for a competent one), I'd be a totally happy camper. Not so unhappy at the moment though. :-)

Rotties are the best. But one thing I did learn about them....it's not always how they are raised. I bought one years ago from a very high-end show breeder. My dog Cammie had a pedigree that was just unreal!! On her mother's side, there were 5 generations of show champions, Therapy dogs, obedience titled dogs and certified tracking dogs. On her father's side, there were 5 generation of Schutzhund titled dogs and show champions. Unfortunatly, Cammie took after her father's side. She had the looks of a true champion, but she was suspicious of strangers (including show judges....not good for a show dog) and too protective. I tried for months and months to show her and socialize her to strangers and nothing I did worked. I could have returned her to the breeder since I really did want to show her, but we loved her so much. She loved and protected our family for many years. She was awesome!! But she could not be trusted around strangers, ever. She was always "on duty". Cammie taught me a lot. She did teach me that it's not always bad people that make dogs mean....sometimes the dogs are genetically programmed to be that way. My current dog is a pit bull rescue. she is without a doubt the BEST dog I have ever had the pleasure of owning. She is easy to teach, obedient, a good watch dog, and she loves my little bitty chihuahuas. Bailey was quite young when we got her and the chihuahuas were already here. so they established dominance over her early on. The 3 dogs all share one food bowl. There is no food aggression. She is territorial though, and will not tolerate strange dogs. she is genetically programmed to be dog-aggressive. But I understand that part of her genetics and just keep her out of a situation where there will be other dogs. With any rescue, you have to be aware of the dog's genetics and keep that in mind. Something cannot be overcome by love because there is years of genetic programming that dictate the dog's personality.

I have been having the same thing for a month now. It is so scarry. This week I had a brain CT, which turned out normal, all kinds of blood work all normal. This feeling is not fun.

I really feel for you because I have had this for two years now and nobody can tell me what it is! I posted on here last week asking for any help and especially using anything natural. It really is a hard thing to describe and yes it is terrifying. When mine started it actually went into vertigo so bad that I was hospitalized.They did cat scans,an MRI, blood work, etc..., and found nothing! I have been to just about every doctor out there, including a couple of natural doctors! Most think it is all in my head(LOL)others had no idea and one told me to live with it!! Of course that was a man!!!! Anyway I have done so much research on menopause and finally some women who have had dizziness. Still no one had a cure. I just happened to come upon this forum and was I ever happy.Still I haven't found a cure yet, but it is really nice to know that so many others have experienced this and that I am not crazy!!! The only thing that I can tell you is to keep checking in on this forum and maybe we will find something. I am going to check into the back issues of the forums and see what is there. I really believe in doing it the natural way, even though if there was a drug out there that could take this awful feeling away, I just might use it:)

I also have this feeling, almost like I'm going to pass out, not only that , but also my heart starts palpitating, I can't believe how many women have these symptoms and no one can give an explanation, I start thinking i'm having a Heart Attack, but, then it subsides, what the heck is going on?

I also have strange sensations in my head. I sometimes think I am going to have a stroke. I can remember having these feeling when I was pregnant. I often thought that I may forget who I was, I just felt weird. After the birth of our son, I never felt this again until I had a complete hysterectomy at 39. I am now 45 and occasionally feel this weird sensations mostly at night.

I've had this sensation, too. I cannot describe it. It has only happened a couple of times over the past 6 months or so. I am 44 and I am sure I am perimenopausal. I had what I believe to be my first migraine ever last night, complete with vomiting. My periods are weird.

(Just got to this forum and am looking forward to reading more.)

It's terrifying :(
