Katlan...what kind of container worked best for you?

mimi, I used a small ramekin dish. Maybe 3-4" dia. It really is amazing that it cooks in 1 minute and was fluffy and light and good. Mmmmmmm.

I used a coffee mug. If the container is too small it will overflow everywhere.

I use a ramekin too and it works fine. I LOVE this little cake. Perfect and quick for a snack.

I tried a cup and that was too small for me so now I use a ramekin and microwave about 1 Min. & 20 seconds. Use coffee or milk for the liquid in chocolate/ AF. I usually top with cool whip or ice cream and eat right out of the bowl. Yum !

I'm a certified card carrying 3-2-1 club member. I make one every afternoon, white cake for me. Sent to granddaughter in college for her dorm room (chocolate). Love it and am taking the bag of mix with me to Florida to do with 5 y/o granddaughter, should be fun in our rented condo.

For an easy frosting, DH likes to stir peanut butter into melted chocolate chips...spreads very nicely on the cake.

I bought yellow cake mix and AF mix and added 2 tablespoons of Hersey cocoa. I have used water to mix it up with, but someone mentioned using milk, so I'll try that next. (Right after dinner...lol...) I keep powdered sugar in a little sifter to sprinkle on top before serving. The good thing about this little treat is that it is so fast and simple. That is also the bad thing.....

I use a coffee mug and then when the cake is done and hot, I top the cake with ice cream. So I have lots of room and no spills using a mug.

I tried it with the milk, and that is what I'll do from now on. Made it a bit "creamier" and that little bit of milk doesn't add much in the way of calories. My big problem now is that DH, who normally can't boil water, and has a huge sweet tooth, has figured out how to make it. I may have to hide the mix...lol

I am pleased to say I have lost weight due to my nightly 3-2-1 snack cake. I rarely snack or over indulge during the day, but when night time hits I can't get enough sweets. I love the fact that I can have a different cake flavor and topping every night. My favorite is chocolate fudge with a fresh raspberry puree on top. If necessary I can have a second helping with topping and my nightly indulgence is under 150 calories and best of all I am satisfied :)

Sigh..... Well, now I'm just going to have to try this. I love, love chocolate cake but have no reason to make an entire one. Oh dear, I hope I don't get hooked.

I've been making strawberry cakes. I put cream cheese icing on while it's still hot so it can ooze into all those little holes. Then I top it with sliced strawberries that have been getting happy with a little sugar and balsamic vinegar and top it all off with whipped cream. Soooo good.

I made the first on in a small pyrex dish and it was too small. I got some that are slightly bigger and oval shaped at Walmart and they are perfect.

Wow, never in my wildest dreams would I have thought you ladies would have loved this recipe so well or I would have posted this recipe ages ago. My sweet sister in law who lives in Washington D.C. fixed this little "cake" for us sisters in laws about 3 or 4 years ago and we loved it. I really thought that it was well known about until I had several of my friends over and we were suppose to have a get together and make something crafty...I am NOT a craft person so I thought of this cake thing that my sister had shown us several years ago so I did this recipe with the ladies of my group. The ladies had so much fun with this recipe, and were ooohing and aaahing...so the next day I gave you the recipe. I was surprised that it was not well known. I have now started using it with my husband and myself more again..as I had gotten burned out and I had not experimented with it like you have done, so I am taking some of your ideas and running with it. I use the large muffin paper cups for mine so I do not have any clean up. Someone had posted that there was spill over if you use the cup cake paper cups, but not if you use the large cupcake paper cups. I am tickled you like them. Thanks.

I used the small paper cupcake liner, thats why it spilled over.

As of 30 minutes ago, I joined the club! :)

I doubled the 3 2 1 as Joann Fl suggested and used a 2 cup glass measuring cup to mix and cook in.

After 2 minutes it fell right out of the cup into a bowl. I didn't top it with anything. I used the triple chocolate fudge cake mix from Betty Crocker. YUM!

sjerin, I'm sorry to say but you WILL get hooked. I love these. Can't wait to share with my great niece and nephews next time I see them.

We are going on our annual girls weekend to the shore in April. My two sisters, our daughters, granddaughters, grandmas, aunts, etc. Everyone will love this.

I haven't tried this one yet but I want to soon....I have too many sweets already in the house that need to be eaten up first. My husband will LOVE a fresh cake whenever his little heart desires!

This is getting to be a habit. Tonight I had my mix(brownie w/ walnuts and AF) with coffee liquid and a dollop of cool whip extra creamy. YUM.

What a wonderful idea for a nighttime snack. How many times I've made a cake and a few days later I'm throwing it out because we didn't finish it. I can't wait to try this.
