AGGGGG prom dress shopping tonight...........

We have already gone in Tulsa one day just hit a couple of shops....nope found nothing.....so Sydney informs me she doesn't have to work tonight to dress cute we are going to Muskogee to a few shops...........OH JOY I am jumping up and down...why all of a sudden does she want me to go? Usually her and some friends go and I just have to dole out money....not this year...she wants me involved....totally involved! Ackkkk I dread it but I am going to take my camera and take pics of her dolled up....LOL Stacy

I was dreading it with Kam, but I ended up getting extremely lucky. She had an older friend who had a worn once dress..beautiful black and silver dress. When I saw it I really didn't think Kam would be able to wear it..very clingy..but it looks WONDERFUL on her and the best part of it all is she LOVES it! So I only have to get it dry cleaned and taken up a little in the boobage area..

Good Luck maybe she will find something tonight!!

OMGoodness!! Some of my worst memories of my girls growing up revolve around prom dress shopping. If that wasn't bad enough, they had several formal dances throughout high school, so I feel like I've done this lots. With the oldest DD we went to Dallas, looked all day and she came home crying, went to a boutique here and within 5 minutes found the dress of her dreams. It used to exhaust me. I got to the point I didn't care what they cost. One year one of the DDs borrowed one from a friend. That was WONDERFUL!!!

Trailrunner I hope you have been luck finding clothing for your hubby on your trip. Mine's pretty easy to shop for. I'd have to look in his closet for sure to see what brands, but I know one he's liked since I met him is Arrow and I can't think of the other brand, but I'm sure you'd recognize it. red lover your wedding dress is beautiful. I never even mentioned my wedding dress (which I still have as I designed and made it myself) because I knew it wasn't a look she'd like. In fact I also have her wedding dress hanging in the back of our closet. She lives in Hawaii, but I'm thinking after almost 16 months of moving it around trying to find the perfect place for it, I'm about to pack it up and send it to her. cyn427 thank you for telling me about the VVA. I looked them up and they even have a pick up service in our area. I hear you on planning for grandchildren long before you have them. Five years before our first grandchild was born I wanted the panels on our six panel pantry door painted in chalk board paint. Hubby wondered why I wanted the bottom two painted knowing I wouldn't need to bend down to use them. I said "our grandchildren will use them." And they have. So go ahead and keep the dresses for your grandchildren. They'll love them and what a delight for you to watch them plan in them.

This is my favorite for the cut of the top. She looks very pretty in a strapless gown with her nice shoulders and back. The ruffles are too much for a prom though. Hard to dance and have fun dragging that train around all night.

These are better than those others, but not much. The blue one will not be flattering because of the way the waist is made, but the colors good on her. One of my GDs got a great one on e-bay once, and I think girls around here started favoring the tea length dresses. That's tough walking w/ all that fabric around your ankles.

Only a few times, and I was happy to do it because they were close friends. I currently have friend who is very overweight and she is working really hard to loose the weight. Since money is very tight with her (and to help encourage the weight loss), I told her I'd alter her pants as she shrunk! (luckily, most are elastic waist pants) My son (turning 10 in a few days) thinks I can sew any costume whether it is for him or one of his Transformer figures. He usually has moved on to a new project by the time we actually get around to creating something (thank goodness!!). My daughter (age 8) is wanting a new purse. Now that I can handle!

LOL, it is painful. I have 4 daughters, and 4 times the pain. I didn't bother going along after the first two girls. We never agreed on the dress. I just paid for them.

don't forget the bridal depts of the stores...often they have off the rack dresses...

what are the kids wearing this year? short, long?

Know the feeling...now my grandaughter is a senior and this is her last prom, she finds her gowns usually at bridal shops . They have a great selection.

Well I think we found the winner will post it in a bit. She is wearing long this year as she wore short last year.....She is going to Tahlequah with a friend to a shop their tonight but I think so far she is going with the one we found last night....Stacy
