I can't believe I finally figured out how to post pics!! Please, I need some help. I'm posting this on other forums also. Sorry, these are older pics (& not the best). We are getting ready to drywall soon and I need some advice. These windows are 22 feet high. The window on the lower right is actually an 8 foot height sliding french door. My contractor decided to put the left set of windows equal distant from the left wall and the Log post in the center (between the 2 sets of windows). I originally wanted to keep the log, but now I think it looks off-balanced. Seems the two sets should have been equal distant from the Log post in the center. I hope I'm making sense. Anyway, nothing I can do now. I'm thinking we should trim out this entire wall with wood and build out over the log so it won't look off center. Comments and ideas would be greatly appreciated. Anyone have trim pics of their wood window walls?

I agree with hatetoshop, just move the silver candles in front of the ornate stands. Then a colorful platter where the bowl is (maybe with some of the red) and IMO your done. Looks good

I'm thinking of a ramp you slide the box up on. It would be narrow and have sides a foot tall so the box can't tip to the side. It rolls left and right, maybe a wheel at the bottom and a rail at the top just in front of the shelf that it rides on. Line it up, use a special stick to push the box into an empty shelf space. To retrieve one, the other end of the stick has a hook on it to pull it out onto the ramp. The ramp stores by rolling it all the way to one side and parking it against the wall. It's low-tech, no hoists or pulleys, nothing suspended dangerously overhead, no ladders.

Add lumbar cushions on chairs and a tall plant by front door so it acts as a backdrop to chairs and also visually divides the entrance and living room. (Add other tall plant at end of sectional near dining room) If you chose the right coffee table (a touch MCM to go with console and occasional chairs) the side table will work well with the right accessories. You like the mountain picture at door and I think it looks good there. Suggest removing the antique mirror as it’s not suiting your room at all style or size wise - would be cute in a bedroom. Definitely look for a large mirror over console; bring home a few and test them out and add a lamp, as its reflection will be very welcoming at night and brighten up the hall. Compliment MCM style and it will be a lovely focal point at entrance.
