SW Greige/Gray/Beige for exterior -- thoughts?
Comments (2)Hi McFlurry we just went through the same thing we wanted grays with a beige tone. We picked SW Perfect Greige for bottom, SW spalding gray for shakes and SW turkish coffee for shutters and accent...our door will be stained as well. I don't think you can go wrong with any colors you picked....adaptive shade is really nice. Good luck!!...See MoreSeeking a warm gray or greige paint color!
Comments (23)peachy? no, not here. i have it up, lit by a 40 watt wall sconce. i went out and had a sample mixed just yesterday and painted it on a 5x8 wall. i even put up the art that i have planned for the space. it looks perfect. color is relative to it's surroundings so if you put other colors next to it you'll actually comprehend the tones a bit differently. i love annapolis because of it's absence of a lot of yellow or red so it doesn't seem TOO beige, really. it reads quite gray/stone next to the other sample i bought: pismo dunes. now THAT is beige. really beige; like camel. dark with a lot of yellow and red. no gray at all. annapolis in comparison is more like stone, i'd say a creamy, gray stone. sorry, did i just say the same thing five times?! color is a personal thing though. it may not be for everyone but it's my new love! p.s.: i also picked up a sample of quiet moments in my travels which is a very pale, gray-blue. i think i'll use that in the guest bath. gorgeous color!...See MoreWould like recommendations for a beige greige paint
Comments (12)Just a suggestion when it comes to paint samples. I have purchased DOZENS of paint samples in Benjamin Moore colors from Menards at $3 each. (Use the Pittsburgh Paint Eggshell sample pot - not the Dutch Boy ones.) They have all of the BM formulas in their computers, but have the color strip with the name and number along. The sheen will vary slightly from the actual BM paint, but the colors have been perfect. Menards is a midwest regional big box store, so maybe try Lowes or Home Depot is that's what you have....See MorePaint sample craziness- Gray, Beige, Greige?
Comments (20)Yes. We have a unit vacating on the 31st and I just paid for another 5 gallons of D of M. D of M belongs to the middle of the Yellow hue family. (see the Colorography) When some yellows (most yellows) get darker and grayer they looker greener. It's not always noticeable, however. It's more like there are moments of greeness not necessarily an inherent sense of greeness. Personally, like that edge of greeness because to me it reads fresh and clean. What all that means is classic color theories apply. Colors that go with yellow and green will go with D of M and colors that don't, won't. Drift of Mist Colorography....See MoreEG3d
