Try going up 1 font size.

I can't tell you how many envelopes I have ruined. I usually do labels.

I don't use "mail merge". Try using "Envelopes & Labels" (same location but a little down) and select "Envelopes". It gives you better control & selections.

However, there are standard rules where the addresses should be located at for whichever size envelope you use. This standard has been used from time before the computers. I believe, MSWord and other softwares use this same standard to set up the location of the "To" and "From" addresses. It is probably made it so for the purpose of the post office and other scanning machines.

Thanks Gayle and ntt. I figured out to change the envelope placement in the printer and then tell the program that the envelope is not as tall as it really is. That way the address prints where I want it to.

ntt, I have to use mail merge because I'm printing from a data base of almost 200 addresses and don't want to do them one at a time. I'm not really changing the placement of the address too much, but the program prints it almost at the bottom of the envelope and it just doesn't look right that way. So I am moving it up a couple of rows.

Gayle, I did also go up 1 font size and liked it better that way. This is for invitations and they look much nicer when printed on the envelopes instead of labels for this purpose. The envelopes are fairly expensive, so hope I don't ruin too many!!

I forgot to mention that while trying to get everything adjusted where I want it, I cut paper the same size as the envelopes and print on it. I won't actually print on the envelopes until I have everything set just the way I want it.

I'd like that idea ... would probably use paper that had alredy been printed one side. In fact, I suppose having been printed on both sides would do, for the machine isn't sensitive to where previous printing is located, like bank book printers.

Can't offer a word of advice about "Word" - sorry.

LOL OJ! I did use paper that was already printed on and some printed on both sides!

I'm happy to say that I printed 180+ envelopes and didn't ruin one single one!!! Then I tried to print the names only on the inside envelopes, but my printer wouldn't pull the envelope through. I'm guessing that it's because the envelope is lined and a little bit thicker than the first envelopes I did? I plan to keep working on them until I get it figured out. Thanks for the suggestions.

Also, you may need to adjust the left margin. I have trouble with the first letter printing right on the cut line for the label. I usually use HP printers and it seems to be a universal problem (at least for me).
