Can you post some pictures of your room and your existing print so we can see size, how it goes with your furniture, etc? I find it easy to use tinypic.com for one-time posting. No signing into an account or anything. If I think I'll need to repeat the posting of a particular pic, I save the data on it to a word doc for future reference.

You could also consider finding a local artist (see Craigslist?) and asking them to make you something. Or go take an art class and make your own.

Another thought is a picture on one side, and a little shelf, a tapestry, a black and white or sepia toned pic collection, or sconces or something on the other side. Or even a grandfather clock or tall plant? Depends on your decor and your taste.

Are you starting from an inspiration picture of how you want your finished room to look?

Thanks Oceanna for suggestions. I don't think I was too clear in what I was trying to ask. I love the Berkshire print I have, it looks great in my room as the colors are perfect and is my style.

I really want to use another print on the other space for balance, but my question/concern is whether to use a print that is too "similar", i.e. his Berkshire prints all look very much alike. Just wondering if others buy art perhaps in a "series" (like the Berkshire landscape)? After thinking more about this, I think it would be best to use another landscape, probably by the same artist, but not another one of his Berkshire prints. Hope I am making sense.

I'm loving Sullivan's Creek II... the colors match the one you already have, but it's completely different.

tuesday, I think I and II together are just fine; I think the two different views complement each other. I do not order frames or matting online; you should do better at an art store or chain store like Hobby Lobby that mats and frames prints. On my monitor I can't tell that the Sullivans Creek, and certainly not the Four Seasons, colors blend or complement what you have. They are also not the same size, at least on the page I saw. Good luck!

I have another question (I am such an art dummy). I have never ORDERED art - just purchased retail. The print I have is on a textured paper (is that the same as canvas print)and it is framed without glass. It has a texture to the touch. When I look at Art.com or some of the on-line sites they talk about art print or giclee. I don't have a clue what they are talking about. I do not want a POSTER PAPER print - I want texture that is pretty without glass. What should I be looking for.

I wish I could just walk into a store and find what I am looking for. I am seriously not looking at rare, expensive art - just a coordinating picture by the same artist.

This on-line gallery shows the option for canvas transfer. Is this what I should be looking for?

A print or giclee would both be on paper. Like a poster, as you said, and it would be framed under glass. I would guess that what you have is a canvas print.

I have ordered a few things from art.com and all have been prints on paper. I have gone both ways -- had them framed locally and by art.com -- and I liked the one-stop-shopping aspect of having art.com do it. As a side note, I just ordered a very large world map from art.com, had them framed it, and it is really nice!

Most good prints come under glass but they don't have to stay under glass unless you prefer them that way. I just purchased two prints framed in glass and I removed the glass as I don't like the reflection. That being said, I also wanted some balance with the two pieces and they are short wide etchings of the Grand Canal in Venice with all the buildings. The colors blend beautifully as well as the subject matter and I really love that one is similar to the other. I just went to Ebay and saw lots of the prints at 30.00 or less with free shipping. When I want to frame something myself, I go to Home Goods clearance, find the size frame I need, throw away the photo or art in it and replace it with what I like. Cheap and easy.

Thanks! So sounds like I need canvas print. Art.com does not have that option for the prints I am looking at - guess I will need to go to another source.
