Thank you all he sounds much better this morning. He is on his way to get an evaluation done so hopefully he will accept the help. I told him he needs to get back into church as well. Oma's is a plant nursery here, lol. I went by Patties after work with all the dogs and what a circus it turned into. I had my 3 and her one was there so I thought they could play while we visited for a little while. She got two rabbits yesterday and the first thing they all did was try to eat the rabbits so I told her I was going to have to leave. While we were gathering up the others Lucy Lou snuck into the greenhouse with the parrots and one bit her on the nose and chased her out, lol. Then she was hiding behind Goldie and a cat came up and sat down right beside Goldie the cat killer and off they went. The cat scratched Goldie and that didn't even slow her down. She chased the cat into the pond and turned over all the potted plants and treed the cat on the deck. Poor cat was all wet. Goldie forgot all about her heart condition and bad hip. I didn't know she was capable of running so fast. She couldn't even jump up into the truck afterwards, lol. Visit didn't last long, lol. So sorry Patty, lol. Took my mind off of things at least. BB is staying with her when we go to Hawaii so Wednesday I will take just BB and see how it goes. Might have to make other arrangements, lol. Gotta go to work. I'll try to check back in later.

I wasn't surprised that they aired a repeat -- I was surprised that the repeat had just been shown the week before... Mary Alice Young (portrayed by Brenda Strong, who continues with Mary Alice's narration), and her husband Paul had "adopted" a son - Zach. Turned out the adoption wasn't quite legal, and when Zach's mother turned up to claim him, Mary Alice and Paul didn't want to give him up. Zach didn't know he was "adopted" and none of the neighbors did, either. The birth mother was a drug addict, and Mary Alice and Paul killed her, and stuffed her body into an old trunk (I think they may have dismembered her -- I don't quite recall)... They buried the trunk deep in their backyard -- under a swimming pool, to be exact. (So, they had to be in the process of having the pool put in, in order to have done this -- they would have dug the hole for the trunk, buried it, and then the gunite would have been "shot" and the pool finished, etc. Yes, Mike Delfino (the plumber) was Zach's biological father. Zach's maternal grandfather was very wealthy, and had been searching for his daughter for years.... he'd hired a private detective. Somehow (again, I don't quite recall the details), Mrs. McCluskey figured out what Mary Alice had done, and she left the note in her mailbox. It was finding and reading the note that sent Mary Alice over the edge to commit suicide.

I can't say for certain but I'm reasonably sure that there was a Will and such. Passing control to others isn't an issue. As said there were a number of managers capable of running it. And it did continue. They had roped off the table the owner used to sit at all the time as a "memorial" to him. His loss brought in a lot of people actually from what I understand. However, it's been around a year since closing. Sure it's possible it's tied up in probate but I know the attorney he used and I have every confidence it wouldn't be prevented from staying open for that reason. Could it reopen? Well, technically, yes, but when a grill/bar is closed this long, it's a huge challenge to return to the business it was. People find other hangouts. Simple as that. My guess is it's gone for good by now. I have an affection for the small business community. It's what built this country. It's what built the big businesses. I really hate seeing a business die like this. The community is a big loser. Schools are losing a lot of support. People lost their jobs. State loses tax revenue and so on. There's a lot of impact from the loss of a small business.

Since I'm registered as a contributor with FindAGrave, I get emails when a request is made for a photo in my area. The only problem is, FindAGrave must think "my area" is awfully big! I've gotten requests for cemeteries in New York, as well as parts of PA that I never visit. Maybe this is because when I attended my cousin Terry's funeral in NY two years ago, I impulsively took a picture of a gravestone that caught my attention--and it turned out to be one that someone had requested. So I filled a request in NY, and I guess that set me up to receive other requests in that area. The other thing I do with FindAGrave is just photograph gravestones at random, and upload them to that cemetery's listing on the website as needed. Sometimes the deceased is already mentioned (has a memorial) on the website, and someone else has taken the picture. That doesn't happen very often, but if it does, I just don't upload mine. Sometimes the deceased has a memorial but no picture, and in that case I add mine. Most often, no memorial exists, so I create one, uploading the photo along with information such as name, dates, and links to spouses or parents. I just checked my FindAGrave status. So far I've only filled 16 photo requests, but I've created 492 memorials and have added 689 photos. I'm also registered at raogk.com (Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness), but don't hear from them very often.
