Do not think I am making recommendations here, I'm absolutely not. I have a story about my family's adventures in paint stripping to share that might just make some of you feel better about the wood stripping work you are facing. From 1954-65 we lived in a 1911 house. The stairway and all the oak woodwork were painted. Eventually we would count 9 coats of paint. There wasn't a lot of fine woodwork, no built-ins or anything like that, just the stairway with rail and balusters 3 doorways and 6 windows including one picture plus and additional 3 piano windows. We had more kids than money so mom got us all involved in stripping all that paint. I couldn't have been more than 12, probably a lot younger and the rest of the kids were 3-8 years younger than I. We got it done! Counting 9 coats on that stairway! Pretty sure we used Strip-eze. DO NOT remember gloves. That house just flipped for $197k and I'm still shocked. Unfortunately, the pictures that were on the real estate site went away as soon as the house sold. I don't think I have any of my own. In 1965 we moved to a bigger, again 1911, Craftsman bungalow with a built in buffet and entry wall of bookcases, a sunroom with 12-16 windows, colonnades, an 8' buffet and more windows and doors. This wasn't just painted, every inch of it was BLONDED in the style of the 1930's - I think that means both paint (or a paint-like substance) and grain filler. Apparently this was a much more serious job because mom tackled it with LYE and a wire brush. I don't even know exactly how she used the lye, I remember liquid and a lot of brushing, all in situ. By now I was in high school and not about to get involved. (She's 90 and too sick to ask even if she would remember.) She ended up doing that house in two segments, she left the bookcase wall for several years after the first effort. I guess what I'm trying to say, is: it could be harder? (I never liked the way my parents finished their woodwork - with just stain, fairly dark - like a dark walnut, I think, and no finish after that.)

Ideally when a guest arrives, it would happen in this order: - While still in the car, the guest sees the house from the most attractive side, usually not the garage. The house numbers should be visible both on the mailbox and the house. - The guest should be clear on where to park, and the front door should be visible from the parking spot. - The front door should be well lighted and protected from the elements. - Once inside, the foyer doesn't need to be large, but it should be welcoming and should contain a small table for guests' purses and keys. If you live in a cold climate, I'd rather see hooks instead of a coat closet; they're quicker to use. - From that point, I'd rather see the guests enter the living room / great room / whatever you call it. This is probably where you entertain, so it just makes sense. Ideally the guest would not see the back of a sofa upon entering.

We're looking at SUVs right now. I have to say if you are having trouble with low seats, I can totally agree since I currently have both a Ford Fusion and a Hyundai Santa Fe! The Fusion is a pain in the b**t to get out of easily, whereas I'm 5'6" (with short legs) and can slide in/out of the SFe without a problem. I would agree with those that say check out the smaller utes - but also important are the height of the door opening, and how high the vehicle's ground clearance is. Subaru models tend to be high, for example, even on the smaller models, because they are aimed at serious AWD users. My SFe is 7.3" on ground clearance. I would not recommend the Ford Flex; it's basically a mini-van. Unless you have a real need to haul 7 people regularly there is no reason to own it. I happen to love that boxy styling, but for 2 people it is ridiculous overkill. Best for families who are hauling a soccer team around, LOL. We are currently looking at the Ford Edge and the clearance is slightly over 9". Getting into that car is definitely close to the 'pull yourself up' scenario for me. For my DH, who is 5'10", no problem. It's nowhere near as bad as a Nissan Titan, for example, but even without being told you know that Edge is taller than the SFe when getting into it, either as driver or second row passenger. Sometimes ground clearance stats can be hard to find. The Escape has a 7.8" clearance. The Hyundai/Kia have 7.3". RAV-4 is 6.3". CR-V is 6.8". As others have stated, there is no substitute for actually seeing the car and sitting in it. No need to even take a test drive, if you don't want to. The Ford Escape, Kia Sportage, Toyota RAV-4, Honda CR-V, Nissan Rogue, Chevy Equinox, Subaru Forester, Mazda CX-5, and Hyundai Tucson all compete in this market. You should note that many smaller models are going to CVT trannies, and you may either like or dislike them. I live in an area with hills and I find the power lag is too severe with a small engine. Don't dismiss U.S. mfgs. Due to the strong dollar, the price increases on Japanese and German cars are making a noticeable difference. The 2017 equivalent of my old Hyundai SFe costs $4K more than I was quoted on the top-of-the-line Ford Edge. Back in 2003 when I was buying the SFe, it was the other way around! I would not recommend the GMC Terrain, Volkswagen Tiguan, or any Jeep or Mitsubishi model. The GMC is little different than the Chevy but priced higher, and the other three have very poor reliability records. If you are going after a luxury level small SUV, the list on Kelly Blue Book is at: http://www.kbb.com/car-news/all-the-latest/luxury-compact-crossover-suv-buyers-guide-new/2000011021/ Happy hunting!

im thinking picea glauca ... see here: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=picea+glauca+forest&t=ffcm&iar=images&iax=images&ia=images or picea abies.. hard for me to differentiate at this size .... and perhaps juniperous viginiana... see here: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=juniperous+viginiana+forest&t=ffcm&iar=images&iax=images&ia=images i used to mess with free range seedlings in my garden.. they were just oh so cute ... then.. about a thousand seedlings later.. i realized i hated the things with the passion of of a million burning suns ... and i wish i could tromp down the street and cut down the behemoth mother plants.. and launch them into those suns ... lol ... anyway ... dont get to excited about trees that seed themselves into you garden ... that is a main reason.. you might not want them ... of course.. if you have a couple hundred acres.. that might be another story ... ken
