In my opinion, if she gets any money for interviews, books, etc., the proceeds should first be applied to the hospital bills for her and the babies. Why should she get millions of dollars and have the taxpayers pay her bills?

She should not get to keep those babies--she is an unfit mother, IMHO.

She is completely mentally unstable to think she could ever care for 14 children by herself, let alone with a husband! Very very sad for the children.

I haven't seen one news report telling us how the babies are doing. It's all about 0-mom.

She has to prove she can support them and has room for them in her home.

I think this would end up causing more problems than it solves. I'm pretty sure a LOT of babies go home everyday with parents that can't support them nor have room for them in the homes. Will the government start checking everyone's homes and finances before allowing babies to go home with their parents?

That said, I agree that she probably can't support or care for all these babies.

Even Dr Phil noted that folks are hesitant about making donations due to not knowing if any of it would ever be spent wisely. Oct Mom needs a keeper herself. She strikes me as being a pathological liar.

She bled her poor kind, giving Mom dry, and wore her out too. I feel so sorry for her.

I see this news from the mother as another attempt to get people to send her money.

Her dad was on Oprah - she asked if he thought his daughter was mentally unstable. The father said no, she needs psyciatric evaluation!

I understand Lydia's concern, however most women, single or married who have babies, show enough old fashioned common sense and family support not to cause sirens to go off within a few short minutes of speaking.

Even the poorest of poor can be responsible...and O-Mom possesses neither common sense nor responsibility.
Those babies are going to need intense care & she can't, won't or ain't gonna' give it.

I think in a few short months she will be all set in a huge house and plenty of help and money. I see it coming! I do hope those babies get the care they need...no matter how it comes to them. It's not their fault and their lives will never be normal in the care of that family. I feel so sorry for them.

The press and the viewers/readers (pressers?) give her the "folksy" name of octomom when she should be called what she is, a greedy hag who is incompetent to raise any kids. And I have some better names for her too.

I still haven't heard anyone tell where she got the money to pay for the in vitro procedures - they are EXPENSIVE! If she is so poor, how could she afford the first in vitro, not to mention the 2nd one - it's very rare that the implants take the first time.

Maybe she has a secret source for money and isn't at liberty to speak about it. I get the feeling there is a LOT more to this situation than anyone knows.

I would certainly hope they wouldn't release them ,they would be terribly irresponsible if they did. Until she can prove they have a decent home and the proper care coming to help her those babies should stay where they are. poor little things.

I'm not sure if any of the previous posters mentioned the cost of plastic surgery....she obviously had work done. Where did the money come from?

The press is still all over this story - why? This thread shows that there is still a lot of interest in her situation.

Personally I think social services should take all the children put in foster homes and she should be investigated where the money is coming from and it should be put in a trust to pay bills and for the children. She should get nothing. Sorry, the press should give her no publicity. too many of the children and families in this country who really try to make it are getting nothing. Thousands are really struggling, low paying jobs, no medical and those who need help. Not this person who does nothing, even does not take care of her children at home. Just makes me MAD.

I just heard that from my son last night..and then just now on TV about the porn offer. Now that would land her in much more hot water but I'll bet it was tempting for her!

Do the people who made the offer realize how she got pregnant?
