Yeah, OK, so I missed it, but I saw on the TGIF thred that your birthday was Wednesday, so happy Belated Birthday.

I do note, however, that painting the bathroom would not be my choice of celebrations, so I hope you did something else more fun too.

Thank you all, my dear, dear friends. Yesterday we had one of those days here at our house -- no water for 36 hours, Freya sneaking a pizza off the kitchen counter, and the smell of fresh polyurethane pervading the cold, damp house.... On the other hand, I had the loving affection of Tom and my DS Jacob, calls and cards from family, and greetings from all of you. And tonight we're going out to dinner to try celebrate again. Carla, Luanne, Jon, Anita, Lori, Ingrid, Sue, Carolina, Pamela, and Carol -- each one of your messages brought smiles and memories to my mind. I just realized that with the exception of Ingrid, I know each one of you in the Real World (as opposed to online) -- Ingrid, we'll just have to correct that soon. Thanks, everyone! I missed this thread! Celebrating all week is sorta what is happening ....

Day before my b.day I called my favorite Italian restaurant to find out if my favorite chef was working. Well, seems he is really tired because of the second location they are trying to open. Marco (a waiter) called back and said the chef would come in for dinner for me and would do something special but for us to come around 5 before they got busy. We did and boy, they did too! Pietro made us a wonderful sausage/broccoli rabe ravioli in red pepper cream sauce. To die for!! A nice bottle of wine, plus dinner and dessert but no check. Guess I'll have to make them a flourless chocolate torte pretty soon.

Thanks for the kind thoughts! The bathroom is looking grand!

Lou, you are such a sweetie! In the past I had a green Taurus--I don't like green, but it was a good car. I called it Kermit and threatened to put a red tongue sticking out of the grill!

The flower is lovely and it actually looks like a daylily. Even the foliage looks like a daylily. I have over 100 daylilies and love tiger lilies,too, but tiger lilies don't grow in FL. You have made this very special to me, and thanks, Lou!
