Any Change In Your Weather Today?

Flurries right now on top of the existing sleet and snow and ice. It is 20 degrees and windy. We can't get out of our drive as it is too slippery. He may wait until the winds die down and get the tractor and scoop out and see what can be done. The temperature is to drop more today. Snow ending by 9 p.m. tonight. We have been lucky no power outage here. In our county you can travel if you must, but in some very close to us no travel is allowed at all. Gusting winds are at 40 miles an hour. We are nice and toasty and just finished a breakfast of french toast, bacon and hot tea. How is it where you are this morning?

YES, The sun is out and you feel warmer even though it's only 1 degree out. It's calm, no wind. WONDERFUL!

Well, it's not snowing up here yet, Sue. But I did see that we are supposed to have freezing drizzle! Lovely! Cali and I have Book Buddies at the library this afternoon. This group meets once a month and we really look forward to it. They read a book and then the kids have a craft and then a snack time, the mom's and granny's and sometimes a grandpa or two have a separate craft time. It's lots of fun! Plus the kids get to take home a brand new book! So other than making the beds, doing the dishes, that's pretty much going to be the highlight of our day!

Yesterday (Sat) was beautiful here, deep in the heart of Texas. Not sure what the high was, probably somewhere in the upper 60's. Sunny, light breeze. So I washed the sheets, hung them on the line to dry and put them back on the bed last night. Heavenly! How I love the way they smell after drying in the sun on a beautiful day! I use the dryer for them all summer, hanging out in the 90 plus degree weather just doesn't produce the same results, just a dry dusty smell. Today seems to be more of the same, it's 70 out right now. Last night was in the high 40's, coldest we've had since last February. What a treat these few days have been after all the long days of unseasonably high temperatures we've had so far this fall! Rusty

My weather sucks big time at the moment!! Pouring down rain again; same all day yesterday and tomorrow doesn't look much better. Flooding is cautioned in some areas but fortunately not near me. And it is dark and gloomy as well :-( Good day to stay indoors and do my Christmas prep. The PNW has a reputation for wet weather, especially at this time of year. But pouring down rain is not typical for us.....usually it is a persistent misty drizzle type of rainfall, not a constant heavy rain. Had to run out for a fast errand this morning and got drenched!! Looks like it will clear up by Sunday and through the holiday, though.

Yesterday our patio thermometer registered 82° with 21% humidity, and it should be the same for the next few days, and might get slightly warmer. I have the pool heated to 87°, and so it feels quite warm. I would be fine with the pool a bit cooler, but my brother likes this temperature. Lew temperatures are quite cool at 55°, but it warms up quickly. Skies are very clear, giving us great views of the surrounding mountains. There is still snow on the highest peaks.

In Amarillo and the surrounding counties, it's still bitter cold. We are -2 this morning and will be only 8 for a high. Our north winds give us a wind chill of -25!

Just an inch of snow, but it's just too cold to be outside.

Just came back in. Made a narrow path to the car, and across the back of it on the drive way.

The change today is: no snow falling. :)

the same is: cold and blowing snow. Just the snow that's on the ground... is blowing.

Yes............Today is HOT. Its 71 now, but feels like 80. I had to put shorts on and turn on the fan. Sorry to put a damper on your cold weather. The cold is supose to come back this week though. Enjoying it for now.

Today it is blue skies and sunny and the temp is now 30, breezy but not nearly as blustery as yesterday.
However Texas has begun rolling blackouts so we are having to contend with that. My friend in Austin called me and was saying they had been hit and supposedly it was to last 45 mins but they were out for 2 hours, including the schools and universities. I hate that it can really mess with the computers when it goes out that way.

Wow, raven, never heard of that before. We have water rationing as far as using water in the landscape in the summer here, but blackouts... not yet.

The sun is shining, and I have been out again and again to move more snow off the driveway. Should be able to get out later today.

Today, we have sunny weather and the temp right now is 68 degrees. Tomorrow, our high is supposed to be 40 degrees! We are having "yo-yo" weather!

It is 25 degrees colder than this time yesterday. We only got rain and then some flurries this morning. It is 29 degrees out now and was 55 about this time yesterday.

Windy BUT good news--temp is 5 above and going up for a few days. Still lots of snow and blowing snow.
