Lou, thanks for the birthday serenade. A BIG thank you to rest of you for the good wishes! I had, maybe the best birthday ever. When you're my age they're all the best, I guess. LOL Monday night, my middle daughter invited us for barbeque supper, Yesterday 3 of my nieces, one of whom lives on the lake invited us for lunch and Fisherman Bob got to fish while we visited. Fished 2 hours and a half, got one bite, but thoroughly enjoyed it. We almost overstayed our welcome, I think. Lunch tomorrow with son and his wife and daughter. Still have a dinner with Bob waiting in the wings. It's been a whirlwind 3 weeks. Mother's day followed by our 50th Anniversary, a short trip to Charleston....I always love going there... and then the birthday. Guess I'll take a backseat now, to Father's Day. Thanks again, everyone You're the greatest! jude

We had a good day, lunch was a fun surprise, we ate at CRAFT, "Top Chef's" Tom Colicchio's outpost in Century City. Service was excellent, the food, suffice it to say, just wasn't to our taste. It's a great space, but I much preferred the food at Mario Batali's, Mozza Pizzeria. We then shopped around and DH bought me one gift and maybe something else too if I can make a decision! We never made it to the Vanity Fair exhibit, but it's still on our To-Do list. Dinner with my parents this evening at a local (the Valley Inn-- stop laughing Jessy)eatery. It's okay, but definitely better than the alternative stress of eating at my mother's! Thanks for all the good wishes,despite missing seeing my kids and grands, it turned out to be a much nicer day than I anticipated!

My many thanks for the wonderful greetings, giggles and well wishes. Hubby made me a German Chocolate Cake on Sunday (from scratch I might add - it's the only time he bakes something - bless his heart). As I blew out the too-numerous-to-count candles (55) I wished for cold weather and snow. How selfish of me since it was a record-breaking high of 81Â°F on Monday, mid-60's yesterday. But today - ahhhhhh. It's 32Â°F and it's SNOWING - so you better be careful what you wish for. Now I wish the Semilina Bread was done, as all the other things I'm working on for tomorrow. Thanks ever so much!!! BTW - I'm enjoying a quick lunch with all of you while trying to type ;-) -Grainlady

Thank you so much everyone for your kind birthday wishes...and the added graphics...y gracias Sol, aunque Wolf no esta aqui sino en Tenerife. Yes my hubby is still at home in Tenerife holding down the fort with a visiting friend from Germany. The journey here is just too exhausting for him and he prefers to stay home where it's quiet. I apologise for not getting on earlier to check in but it has been hectic with much moving around visiting. It took two days of flying and 4 airplanes with stops in Madrid, Frankfurt and Calgary before landing on Vancouver Island.
