I need help on how to get cat urine odor out of concrete?
Comments (43)The reason Nature's Miracle says not to use any other method of cleaning is because they know you will use another method before buying it. Now they have an excuse as to why their product doesn't work. Nature's miracle is junk. My wife and I are current replacing flooring in our house. We adopted a 3 year old cat that was left behind after the owner moved. We found out why she was left behind. She pisses and poops everywhere. She had some kind of pancreatic issue and was on steroids her whole life. She died at the young age of 12. We loved her so we endured the daily treasures left behind. I would destroy another house full of flooring for that cat. It's a small price to pay for that unconditional love. This is Pita (acronym for pain in the arse)...See MoreMale diabetic cat still urinating outside the box.
Comments (13)Thanks for all the help. I am going to try using one of those steraline tubs and cut a hole in the side for easy entry. I cant really move the box, the bathroom is to small and this box is in the only room that does not have carpet, there are several more down here in the basement but he does not come down here much. My two female cats stay down here most of the time (my office is down here) they do pick on him (they have claws) he outweighs them by a ton but he's kinda a wimp. So the 3 other cats use mostly the boxes down here but will also use "his" box upstairs. He does at times come down here and wee outside the boxes. It's a sealed concrete floor that slopes to a drain I can just wash down with water Yes we have seen him actually do the deed however he does often wee over the top of the box too. I noticed the health food store in town has that feliway and I will try that as well. I am laughing at the Prozac, maybe just give it to hubby instead LOL, seriously though will talk to the vet about it! Honestly this is hubbys favorite cat and the only one of the 4 HE brought home. .Abby is safe till spring at least, it is 0 outside now and the ground is frozen solid, I heard him tell Abby he better "get it together before he can dig him a hole" he calls him Junior so he really does love his cat.I have told hubby he will have to make that decision because I will not, his response was "you want me to make the decision so you can hate me forever for killing the cat" UUUGGGGG I wish the cat had a 401K, pension and SS......we would have no problem....See MoreCat urine smell in bathroom - But no cat...
Comments (12)When cat urine has permeated into anything remotely porous, it’s going to be an expensive problem where everything has to be ripped out and replaced - it might be cheaper to burn the house down and start fresh with a new build (I’m only half joking here when I say burn the house down to save money! But dog pee smell is easier to remedy than cat pee, so if I had to choose one to deal with I’d pick the dog pee 100%). Is there an exhaust fan in that bathroom? Like @kelli w, I’m wondering if it’s some kind of mold or bacterial growth. If your bathroom has no ventilation, things like mold/bacteria are definitely going to proliferate on any surface with the right combination of conditions that allow them to do so. Since it’s less costly to go without cleaning the shower and see if the smell worsens; if it does you have a starting point from which to plan a course of actions, which should definitely include putting in an exhaust fan if there’s not one in there already, but it’s only able to help things if it’s actually used during showers and run for a good while afterwards so it can do it’s job completely....See MoreWays to remove cat urine odor from drywall?
Comments (8)I would first invest in a black light to see exactly where the urine is and how large an area you're really dealing with. The area that is painted may not be that saturated with urine but the area of unsealed/unpainted mud and drywall (below the paint line) is probably where the worst odor is. If that's the case, then trim away the mud and unpainted drywall, treat with enzymes made for cat urine, let it dry thoroughly (put a fan on it) and then coat with oil-based primer. You may be able to remove a lot of the mud with a wet rag. To replace the baseboard you'll need to do as Rehabit described and fill in some spots with pieces of drywall. Is that raised, open area on the corner damage from urine?...See Morejacobsmishpacha
