Well THANK YOU everyone!! I miss you guys too - I just don't cook much these days. My job is settling down a lot though, so I hope to crack out the spatulas again soon. I had a nice bday ~ last night went out with family to Jilly's Cupcakes - had a killer brisket sandwich and a big ol' honkin' mocha cupcake. Tonight went out with my best friend to an Asian joint, where I am certain I ordered the absolute HOTTEST dish on the menu. Whew! Then we went back to my house and had Gooey Butter Cake (a St. Louis thing), and Latte Choc. Chip ice cream :) I look forward to tomorrow at work, because I am pretty certain there is a coffee ice cream cake in my future! (hmmm...is there a theme here?)

Thanks for the birthday wishes! This is the 5-0 birthday for me and it's just hard for me to believe it! After yesterday though, I'm FEELING it! LOL The house my boys lived in when they were in college is going on the market today so I was over there painting the kitchen cabinets and staging the bathrooms (cleaned them spic-n-span first). Oh my, I have soreness in places I didn't even know I had places! It probably didn't help that I came home and practically guzzled a bottle of wine while in the hot tub! So I guess 49 went out with a bang and 50 is coming in with a whimper. :-)

Thanks! We just went for a ride and walk on the beach. We had severe storms here last night as Cindy hit us here. It scrubbed the beach clean.

Can one have too much birthday? Today you'll have the opportunity to test that hypothesis.

Thanks everyone! It's so nice to get birthday greetings every year, even though I pretty much only lurk these days. I just don't cook much anymore, although that might change, ya never know.

I have had a nice bday week, starting Friday night with dinner out. I had a huge ribeye topped with gorgonzola butter...ooooh baby was it good. Then Saturday was a family dinner - a massive brisket and spaetzle were the stars, along with lemon angel pie - meringue crust with lemon cream filling. Yum.

Tonight I went to my current favorite Vietnamese place with my best friend, and tomorrow I am certain when I get into work that my entire office will be shrouded in black. (It's my big 5-OH!!!)

Thanks again!

Wow, that big five-oh!

I've been busy, just checked in here for a moment to make sure I didn't miss anything important. I did, and I'm sorry I'm late.

Happy Birthday.
