Thank you, thank you, everyone. I'm having a quiet day. DH has to work tonight, so I'll be hanging out at home enjoying our wonderfully cool weather. Amazingly, it's been in the 70's today, damp and a bit rainy. For Texas in August, that's just unheard of, but it's quite a relief after all the 100 degree days we've had. I'm back now, to my "real" computer and can actually type on it. I don't know how those of you with smart phones do it. Anyway, I had a great birthday weekend up in Tahlequah, OK, working on our house. We're making slow but sure progress with the kitchen. On Saturday I went Farmers marketing, first to the one in Tahlequah, then to the one in Siloam Springs, Ark., where my sister sells knitted items and cookies, among other small baked goods. When she closed up shop, we had a fast food lunch, then headed to her friend's farm, where I got to hold a two-week old pygmy goat. Cute doesn't even begin to describe a two-week old pygmy goat! I had a blast, I'm tired, but it feels good to get work done and have some play time, also. Oh, since the kitchen was torn up, for my B-day dinner we had hot dogs, sauerkraut, and, believe it or not, DH opened up a bottle of Beaujolais, since he felt it was a celebratory time. It was a fun dinner, but I don't recommend wine with hot dogs and sauerkraut! lol! Sally

Actually, I did celebrate all weekend, and dear Jerry made me a wonderful dinner of porcini mushroom risotto, asparagus with sweet red onion-lemon vinaigrette, a wonderful mixed salad and for desert, and chocolate cake and Blue Bell ice cream. What more can a girl ask for! Oh, fine company with his cousins, that's what. We spent a few days up in Tahlequah, and just got back tonight. We did a little work on the house, but mostly visited with friends and watched hummingbirds fight with each other over the flowers. Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts and birthday wishes. Sally

Anele...with all you have going on I am so pleased you found this thread and sent your wishes. Thank you ! DH is a special guy. If it weren't for him I know I wouldn't be meditating and that has led to so much more as far as my piece of mind....which he then benefits from. A win/win situation for sure. Thank you every one! DH and I both had to work, but we didn't have to go into work until noon, so we had our fun this morning! We went to a couple of estate sales, one of which had lots of interesting stuff, because they must have been collectors. They had hundreds of Santas, lots of garden art and pots, just all kinds of stuff. I got a pretty blue and white speckled bowl, and an interesting lithograph of a photo that was taken back in the 1800's of some children and a couple of milk cows. One of the children was milking a cow. There was just something about the photo I loved, so I got it as a birthday present for myself.

Then, when I got to work, my co-workers had lots of presents for me. I got Beverly Doolittle jigsaw puzzle, some books, an apron, and a single serve tea pot. All in all, a great haul.

This weekend we'll probably do a nice dinner, and DH has been assigned the task of making ice cream.
