Hooray, I canbe second to wish you Happy Birthday! I'm early, instead of later, for a change.

Aw, thanks gals. Christy would cook a meal of my choosing for me but since she has to work tomorrow I just asked her to bring home dinner. A couple of weeks ago we tried a new Italian restaurant that had really good home made gnocchi in a nice fresh marinara with hand pulled mozzarella on it. We tried several dishes and had gotten a childs portion of their cheese ravioli in alfredo. The ravioli was hand made and the Alfredo was real Alfredo... ie reduced cream. I have trouble finding Alfredo that doesn't have black pepper in it [I'm sensitive to black pepper] and this didn't. So those are the two dishes I'm having. Nice and starchy... lol. She's also getting a cake from my favorite bakery, Italian People's in Trenton. Whipped cream icing no doubt. Smiles. Then she is taking off Friday and Monday, so a nice 4 day weekend. This week she's been stocking me up with canning supplies and tons of heirloom tomatoes, some cukes for Chase's dills, etc., soooo... heh.. I'm looking forward to a nice birthday and a couple days of canning.

Best wishes on your birthday, and I 'm sure you had great Italian food. I go to a restaurant here in Westchester called Italy's Little Kitchen, and it is run by a family from Elizabeth, NJ. They have tons of 1950s family pictures from Elizabeth NJ on the walls, which I think is interesting. Their Alfredo is also made with reduced cream, but it is too rich for me, and they put cinnamon in it.

I've been watching Jerseylicious lately, which makes me think of you!

Thanks you all. After wishes are just as appreciated. Smiles. It was a good day and it's been a good weekend so far. We still have tomorrow. The canning has gone pretty good, but it sure is hard with two old ladies with bad backs one of which uses a cane, to haul all that hot water and such and schlep the stuff around the kitchen, clean all the jars from basement,. etc.. etc.. lol. Did a few dills and some tomatoes. Meanwhile dragging the canning stuff from the pantry closet[which is an under the stairs kind of deal so it goes far back but gets shallow] caused me to have to clean and rearrange that. I've just about killed Christy. She may never take another day off. LOL.

Omg. Lars.. you made me laugh so hard. I read your post to Christy and she said.. "Jerseylicious..you... NOT..", then she proceeded to kill herself laughing. ..lmao.. omg.. good one. Don't have the accent. My hair is long and I've only had it cut professionally once in my adult life and that was a trim. I cut it myself. No hair products, except shampoo. Some eye liner and mascara sometimes. No animal prints..ever..lol.. I wear long cotton tshirt dresses or long tshirts and shorts/pants. Sorry if this disappoints.. smiles. Btw, around here we call that part of NJ.. New York New Jersey.
