KT get-together today!

Oh I wish you could all be here today. Joann_Fl and her DH,Nita and Carol and Nita's cousin, Tim are coming for a KT gathering. Sure would be nice if more of our KT friends could join us for lunch and laughter. I'm so looking forward to seeing them all. But you'll be in our thoughts (good ones, of course.)

Well darn you both Flamey and Gravey, though I doubt Gravey will lose any sleep over it. :-) But who's gonna make margaritas now??? Nita, I figure I'll have the get-together now and when you finally do make an appearance in CA, it will just be reason for celebration once again. You know even though the Bakersfield gathering was, what, 10-12 years ago? My hubby still tells people about Nita, the lady who rides a pretty trike around the country. I wanted to bring this to the top again in case someone hadn't seen it. Judy said that people 2 and 3 hours away wouldn't come. Come on folks lets prove her wrong. I know that there are several who are coming from great distance but she was talking about the folks in MN that have never been to a get together. Folks these are really fun and you will be sorry if you miss out. Looking forward to meeting new people and getting to hug friends that I haven't seen in a long time.

Carol is the best.She is the sweetest person.She has been my partner in the swaps before and she gives the bestest gifts.She writes the sweetest emails.I would love to live by her.I bet she would make the bestest neighbor.I would love to live between Carol and Jenni.Jenni could teach me to sew and do all kinds of crafts,and I could play with baby Jake,Carol"s grandson and Grant.Now would that not be a life.I love baby Jake's hair,how it stands up.It looks so so soft,and Grant growing up and at his age everone says is so so so loving.I am glad you share this meeting with us.

So... Joann is having a birthday party? lol It is her birthday today.

I'm sure you'll have a great time. We expect to see pictures later today.

I had a dream about Dances last night. She had just invented something I think. Haven't had a "KT" dream for awhile.

It's Joann's anniversary, her birthday was last month on the 31st...from the special days page at the KT Gathering Place.

We had a really nice time, but it's always over way too soon. That Carol cracks me up every time we get together. It's a good thing I don't have to sit beside her in church or we'd get in so much trouble!

I was really happy to meet Joann and her DH and I apologize to her right now for forgetting it was her birthday. I'm so sorry we didn't sing "Happy Birthday" to you, Joann. But it must've been your lucky day :-) Nita's cousin, Tim isreally interesting and while the guys were talking, it turned out that Harry was a teacher at the same high school Tim attended. Harry was teaching chemistry at the time so their paths didn't cross, but it proves it really is a small world.

Lunch was roasted turkey breast, potato casserole, green beans, blueberry salad and rolls. Joann brought homemade red velvet cupcakes (Harry's favorite) and I made bread pudding with whiskey sauce.

We mainly just yakked the afternoon away. I had a wonderful time. It's always a good time when Nita comes. I don't know about them, but I know I'm not going to be wanting any dinner tonight.

Someone will post pictures, I'm sure. I got my camera out and ready to go, but when I looked for it this morning it had suddenly disappeared. I don't know where that sucker is. I need to learn how to post pictures and was going to use today as a starting point. Sorry!

I finally made it back on here. We did have a great time today! The food was wonderful, Patti did a fantastic job on everything. It is so nice to finally put a face to the names. Maybe I won't get so confused now. No, it wasn't my birthday, it was our Anniversary. We NEVER do anything so this was great getting away and seeing, meeting new friends. I am so glad we were able to go.

We all took the same picture but mine is on the kt gathering place so you will have to go look for yourself. Its the last picture on the bottom. I do hope the camera added the 20 extra pounds I am seeing.....LOL

If any of you took a better picture I'd be happy to see it and will replace the one I posted.

Sunshines, I wish you could've come, too. I understand your prefering privacy, but you would've loved the company :-) Maybe next year if you're feeling more comfortable and have the time??

Joann, those cupcakes are to die for! I don't think I've ever had a more moist cake. Had to have one for breakfast. Is the recipe you used the same one that's posted at the KT Gathering Place? Man, they're good!!

Patti, Yes it is. It's the first recipe in the cakes & pies section. If you want to make cupcakes just bake about 18-22 min. The cupcakes are much easier then the cake and just as good.
Please post that blueberry dessert too, its not in Our Recipes that I could see.
