Hi Annie, I just thanked you for your welcome to me in the "Best Lemon bar recipe exchange" Your pictures are great. Looks like you have a wonderful family. We too had a great picnic. I haven't tried to attached pics yet but will attempt soon. Not sure how you do it. In the other thread I told you that I was really in zone 5. South of Kalamazoo about 20 miles. It is really hot here, how is it up where you at?

Wow, you aren't very far away at all, Sherry (sheshebop) is from Three Rivers, Nancy (wizardnm) is from the Charlevoix area, Michael/Lyra (bunnyman) is from over in the thumb. elery lives in Spring Arbor and works in Jackson, I figure if we don't have to live together we can stay married forever. (grin) Peppi is next closest, I think, she's in Chicago.

Now you know we'll be expecting you at a cooking forum get together, don't you?

I agree! How wonderful for the Princess and Bud to have so many young cousins and a warm loving family to complete the picture. No doubt fun was had by all!

Gina, Bud isn't a baby any more, is he? He starts kindergarten in the fall. He still doesn't know his alphabet, but I made him a "special" alphabet book. A is for Allis Chalmers. B is for Backhoe. C is for Caterpillar equipment. D is for Dumptruck and David. He's halfway through already, he just needed something that interested him.

I wish you were all closer, I'd have invited everyone and we'd have a real party. We could show those kids how it's done, LOL. Until about 11 pm, then we'd need to go to sleep...

RR, how are your little ones? Did they see fireworks?

Woodie, she's a CF miracle for sure, isn't she? Happy and healthy and her heart is repaired. Her Down's is slight and she's now potty trained, attending pre-kindergarten and keeps right up with the other kids on the Slip N Slide. There were sure a lot of prayers for that one...

dcarch, we did have apple pie. Hot dogs and ribs too, and Bud Light beer, all the American necessities. Oh, and some venison steak on the grill, of course. It's not a picnic without a deer on the rotisserie, LOL, but I didn't get a picture. Be my guest, send the whole thread to Bernie Madoff, LOL.

Yes, the kids sure have grown. (sigh) Too fast, but I had to grin at a dozen kids sitting on the lawn with frosted and sprinkled brownies, watching fireworks and drinking A&W root beer.

Annie, I would love to join the CF get together sometime. I just retired last October and am having the best time of my life. More time to spend on GW, trying new recipes and gardening. All of which I love.

Annie, I had Maggie spending the night with us on July 4th. We sat on the porch and watched the fireworks over the river. So glad I didn't have to pop them for her. We just enjoyed everyone elses firework display ;-).

We celebrated July 4th on the 3rd...Grilling with friends from Houston and a nearby small town. Lots of food and homemade ice cream!

Homemade ice cream. DANG!!! I forgot!!!

I was supposed to make Doucanoe's Cherry Garcia. Sigh.

Amanda and the kids are camping this week with David's mother and sister, so if I make it this week I'll have to eat it myself.

Hmmm....

As for fireworks, someone else's is always best. (grin)

Annie, how much fun ! I always love your family get together pics but i am a softy for family get togethers.

We're between ages in our family, no little ones. I really miss the little ones but they will arrive in the fullness of time.......or I will be really p!$$ed. LOL

Looks like another great family weekend Annie. So cool to see little Linsey too. She looks like she is having a blast playing with her cousins. Family, food, and fun...that's what it is all about!

He says we can just eat the tail, no more.
