Pretty Clams...what variety are they?

My husband and I went out to dinner last night at an absolutely wonderful restaurant in Jamestown, CA., called "Azzo's". We had scrumptious seared Eastern scallops on a hash of leeks, potatoes & corn, a delicious rib eye steak with a topping I can't recall the ingredients of and some clams identified as manila clams according to the menu in a delicate, creamy broth (house made focaccia to sop up the sauce).

However, I have never seen manila clams that looked like these, and can find no photographs on the web either.

The shells were small, hard, perhaps an inch and a half, and almost white. Not splotchy in coloring at all, evenly almost white, with a purple strip running from the hinge down one side for about a half an inch, about an eighth of an inch wide.

The shells are so pretty that I brought them home and they are in the dishwasher now.

Anybody know what kind of clams they are??
