I'm going to get slammed for this here, but I freak out when people's dogs/cats come anywhere near me. My friends and family are nice enough to put them away when I visit, or they visit me more often (I love to entertain anyway).

Spiders. Snakes that surprise me in the garden. I once almost grabbed one when I was weeding under a shrub. I now wear gloves when I can't see what I'm grabbing.

I love our dog, but can't stand dog hairs in the bathroom sink or in my food. We keep the bathroom door closed and she doesn't go in there, but every morning there are lots of hairs in it, all over the place. Yesterday as I was going to eat my lunch, there was a big old dog hair on top of my food. Couldn't finish it. I don't like to find my hairs on anything either.

Anyone throwing up or making the noise really really makes me tense. I know no one enjoys that, but it freaks me out way more then normal!

Phone calls in the middle of the night, snakes and spiders are all bad too!

I have said it before and will again..........JUNE BUGS.......terrified of them....sighting of thetil season keeps me indoors til they are gone...I lose alot of nice summer nights because of them............Stacy

The phone ringing the middle of the night is one. And the throwing up thing (mentioned above) is another. Also loud noises are extremely upsetting to me - so much so that the upset lingers for a few hours after hearing the noise.

I forgot my other one...that drives Brian nuts!!!! Espcially before we got the 5th wheel and taveling so much....but bathrooms....I used to make him have the check in people give us a key to rooms at hotels before we would check in to check out the bathrooms....even in super nice expensive hotels...I get grossed out in bathrooms...keep my flip flops on to shower...and can't look down the drain when brushing my teath.........I know get over it....Stacy

Im with teresava. I hate the sound of someone throwing up more than anything. The only time that i am less bothered by it is when it is my kids. The mommy in me seems to take over. I find it sooo repulsive when they show someone on Tv doing it. That should be censored.

Not much freaks me out. I get upset at other people's dogs running animals in my woods and people riding ATVs on and tearing up my property. Stacy, I collect June bugs by the handfulls to feed to my possums. :))

This is more of a pet peeve, because I don't "freak out" but going to the store and people standing in the aisles, blocking them, talking to each other, and their kids running all over the place.

People continuously coughing and coughing and coughing ... a lady here at work is a heavy smoker and has been for years. She coughs so much she gags, which causes me to gag and I sit two rows away from her! She does this all day long, every single day. And runs outside every hour or so for another cigarette.

Driving under an overpass really gives me the willies. Train overpasses are the worst, when the train is going across. DH laughs because I duck ... can't help it!

People who call and leaves messages that only say ... call me back. I'm a HELP DESK, for Pete's sake! Give me a clue what your problem is when you leave a message!

Cockroaches....the big, flying kind that live in Florida. When I lived there over 20 years ago, I swear they used to follow me just to freak me out!!!!!

deemarie - There's nothing wrong with feeling that way. We dote on our dogs but we always put them away when anyone comes over unless they ask us to let them out. I just think it's being polite.

I get freaked out by flying things buzzing around my hear. Sometimes you can't tell right away if it's a bee or just a fly.

And I can't watch horror movies where someone is being stalked - watched- threatened. It just creeps me out.

Yes, a phone ringing in the middle of the night always makes my stomach sink but usually it's short-lived until I pick up the phone.

Illness freaks me out. Not sniffles or even bad colds but stomach viruses - whether it's me, DH or my son or really anyone. I'm very empathetic - I immediately feel sick myself. Being sick away from home freaks me out the most. I felt sick coming back from a vacation once when I was young and I had a touch of agoraphobia for the next few years.

My son is allergic to peanuts and anything related to that freaks me out even though he's never had a reaction since we found out. I don't know how I'll be when he does have another reaction (I'd like to think he won't but I'm being realistic). Even a hive on him used to freak me out but he got a few around his eyes last night and while it bothered me but I didn't get that sick, panicky feeling I used to get.

I had an allergic reaction once and I was freaked out for weeks.

This sounds odd but it's crickets. We have them in batches sometimes on our patio & for some reason, I find them in my washer so now I always keep the lid down. One year I had a folding beach lounge on top of a little stool & had it covered for storage. I went to move the cover & there were about 50 crickets on the brick wall behind it. Guess they were there for warmth or something but I really got freaked out by seeing them all there. Ewwwww.

My Mom can't stand the site of a dead bird. It freaks her out! She can't walk past one on a sidewalk and if there is one in her flower bed - she's done. Inside the house until someone takes it away. Go figure.

The thing that would freak me out the most is a door that won't open if I am trying to get out (say..in a bathroom or a car). Being locked in any small space without a way out would put me in a panic.

Flying cockroaches freak me out too. I am usually okay with snakes and spiders though.

Almost every time my daughter calls. When I answer the phone, she says "Ma" then a long hesitation. I imagine her crying and unable to catch her breath. I sit there on the phone waiting for her to break some bad news. She did it thrice: once because she totalled my car; once because Aaron hit his head on the bed post and put a gash over his eye, and once because hubby tricked her about their impending wedding. (He didn't mean any harm and was trying to surprise her, but naturally she was awfully upset after he spent all those years trying to get her to say yes.) She's trained me to expect bad news behind her hesitation. I can't stand that!

She goes to bed around 10 every night. On rare occasions, she will call around midnight just wanting to talk. I freak out upon seeing her name on caller ID at that hour.

Phone ringing at an odd hour.. early morning, late night.

oh, sooo many things. I also can't stand listening to someone throwing up or coughing continuously. I am really paranoid about people choking. I'm a nervous wreck around children or elderly people eating (I've worked with disabled people alot who seem to choke more often). I also freak out when I'm eating in a restaurant and hear someone coughing because I think they are going to choke. I think it has to do with possibly being the one responsible for saving them. When I have kids, I will probably puree everything they eat until they are ten. LOL

Bathrooms gross me out also, they have to look very clean for me not to get freaked out about touching anything in them.

Anytime we've ever had a litter of kittens in the carport. I always ask Twinkie to back the car out because I am terrified that one of them has gotten under the hood or under a tire. (You can open the hood and look and look and still I've had them "take a ride" (or worse!) to town with me.

That problem is gone now that we only have two cats and they stay in the house. Plus, they have good sense and are afraid of Twinkie pulling in the driveway! LOL

Dead birds. I found one in my garage at the end of last summer. Apparently it had been there for several weeks. My neighbor came over and removed it for me.

Rodents, whether it's in real life or just a picture of them. YUK

I get freaked going over tall overpasses. Especially, in the Motor Home on a windy day.

I don't like to be touched when I'm in deep water and can't see what touched me. LOL!

I don't walk in tall grass without my boots. EEK Snakes!

It freaked me out recently when I was seeing a new doctor for the first time who was chatty all during the examination, but suddenly changed demeanour and looked very serious. She was chatting about something when she picked up her stethoscope and began listening to my heart. Then she suddenly stopped talking while moving she her stethoscope about 4 times, not saying another word. After the long pause she said "Wow your heart suddenly took off like a racehorse just now, what's up?" I said, "Well Gee, when you stayed silent so long I thought you heard something bad with my heart, so I guess I got all anxious." She laughed and said "Oh sorry, I talk to my patients when I'm examining with my eyes or hands because it usually relaxes them, but I always stop when I'm using my ears because I can't hear over the sound of my own voice. Didn't mean to scare you!"

The sound and smell of anyone throwing up.

Oh I just remembered this....watching a movie where someone is under the water and can't reach the surface! I need to change the channel or I'll lose my breath!!

Food in the bathroom or on/near garbage. Want to make me scream? Eat in the bathroom or rest your full dinner plate on the lid of the garbage can. Which of course DH and DD do to torture me, then laugh and laugh and laugh.

Certain noises in movies will make me feel sickish and make my stomach upset. I used to be able to watch the worst horror movies and laugh, but now the screaming and some of the sounds make me feel ill. It started when I was pregnant and held over. I also don't like to see slimey things, and it seems the only effect movie makers can use lately is slime. Everything is covered with it.

I don't like to be around people that are coughing or sniffling or otherwise visibly sick. I find myself holding my breath ROFL. Not as bad as I used to be, but still it bothers me.

Ventriloquist dummies and clowns.....no explanation needed...LOL

Seeing kids with snotty noses.....seeing adults expectorate a huge gob of mucus on the sidewalk or street.

A post that was here a few months ago about someone's hubby's stinky something. Don't remember if it was his feet or breath but that the whole thought was the title of a thread made me feel icky. Couldn't eat for a while after reading titles on the board and couldn't ignore that title either. Would read down the posts and try to look over that one, but just knowing it was there freaked me out all over again. And it stayed on the front page for ages LOL. Didn't eat much that week. hahahaha

I hate it when I have a policeman driving behind me just doing normal driving. I don't have anything to hide, but I still freak out when they are there.

The late night phone call, for sure.

Rats and mice. They are smart too, hard to get rid of.

Sometimes when I go to my outdoor bird's cage to feed or water him, there is a mouse in the tray under the cage. I hate that. I'm afraid it will jump out on my foot or whatever! Sometimes I tap the tray with a broom before going to the cage.

Hair totally freaks me out!! When I brush my teeth in the morning I can't even look at my hairbrush cuz if I see any hair on it it makes me sick, or if I drop something beside the toilet and have to pick it up it gags me, and its not like I don't clean it, its just the thought I guess.

Ants. Yecchhhhh.

High overpasses/bridges with low barriers (suspension bridges are no problem), esp. if they curve midspan, like the Coronado bridge in San Diego or San Mateo bridge in the SF bay area.

Moldy slimey grout.

Dirty toilets.

Clowns.

I'm with mammie...rodents of any kind...not even a picture of one...eeeewwwww!

My SIL doesn't want to stop under a bridge if there's a red light. She hangs back so there's a huge gap between her and the car in front of her.

Snakes don't bother me if I know they're not poisonous (DH would have to tell me)

Clowns are grotesque, not funny

Vomiting makes me feel like I might vomit too.

Phone ringing odd hours is scary. Who would call just to talk that early/late?

My MIL with no teeth. My mom had dentures for 40 of her 70 years and I only saw her without them once--when she had surgery and they wouldn't let her wear them in the OR. Why can't MIL be like that? She eats with no teeth and talks with no teeth. Ewwwwwwwwwww. Wear your teeth! That is what you have them for.

Crickets or grasshoppers. I don't like that they can jump...and on me!

Hair! I gag if I see one while brushing my teeth. I gag if I see one in my food...no matter whose it is.

Pet hair! I don't allow our dogs in the house when I am cooking...ever. MIL doesn't get that. And I love my pit bull, but I don't want her sleeping on my bed.

People blowing their nose in a restaurant or while sitting at a table, while others are eating. That happens and I am done eating.

Uhhhh...I am sure there are more things that I will think of later.

The short-sightedness of many human beings: many can't seem to see beyond the end of their own nose.

The bull-headedness of same.

The lack of concern for our depradation on our fragile planet, despoiling it so greatly.

The don't-give a- (four letter word for "manure" -about others that seems to infect so many of us, like a disease.

I'm sorry that many of the things that trouble you folks do that, and wish that we could do something to help you to become less troubled by them. I seem to be able to take most of them in stride.

We used to serve peanuts on the airplane. You can't imagine how many passengers would speak to me with a mouth full of chewed up nuts flying out. EEEEWWWW!!!

Nothing really. I thought being near dead bodies would bother me, at first I was a little creeped out having to go in a room by myself to take out lines and other things but now it doesn't even faze me. One thing I do hate is after bagging up someone and moving them to the morgue cart, I can't stand to have their head hit the metal cart. I always make sure I grab ahold of their head or someone else does. I don't like hearing that thump and is kinda disrespectful letting their head thunk down on the cart like that.
