Well, alrighty then, as long as I don't have to take a sobriety test, I'm home-free. Dinner was wonderful! We met out friends at the restaurant. The maitre'd was in California but made sure that I had my favorite white wine immediately, paid as a gift. Yippie! Dinner was greatly enhanced by the company of such close friends. We all shared an appetizer of hot avocado egg roll followed by tonight's house salad of greens with blue cheese, pears, and pecans. Dh and I ate the rib-eye steaks with massed po's. Bob had grilled tuna and DF Anais, had seared scallops. Happily, birthday cake was ordered in advance, because I was feeling loopy from the wine by the time dessert came. Wonderful birthday! I am tired but so very happy! Everyone has been so thoughtful both in person and here on the CF. Fortune shines upon me for sure. R

I agree. It's nice to see. I don't really mind old threads. It happens. And will continue. I lost a recipe that i had posted here and did a google search with my user name and it came right up on top. I made ice-cream because of the recent post ye olde resurrected. Someone searching may not be familiar with the itty bitty mini date stamp. I have PC and Superstone un-glazed. Found when i made room for the new freezer over the weekend. My Superstone has a nice patina. It will suffer thermal shock like glass bakeware. I give mine a bit of oil and wipe clean, never wash. Then place it in the oven and turn it on low heat just to get it warm to the touch. It can then handle heat as long as it is not fridge cold. Rule of thumb is to never put any frozen foods directly on/in stoneware. I still am careful about fridge cold. I have had a few recent thermal breaks. One was warm from the microwave into a warm water bath. Maybe the glass top rim was cool-ish. I could not find anything about the PC care and usage. I just apply my Superstone cooking tips to PC.

Thanks again guys... I took the Bernina in and they made and adjustment right on the spot and even gave me a free pack of needles and it worked fine there... of course the minute I try to use it at home, well... we'll see what happens. The lady told me not to threaten it or use bad words because the machine will misbehave even worse! I'll try to be good... I ended up not having to work the second job last night... another guy showed up because he misread the schedule and since he doesn't have a car and I do and only live 15 minutes away, I let him stay and I traded days with him :o) Lars, I know enough to know that Mr. Foxworthy's first name is Jeff and not John :-p Nice try though.... maybe you were on coffee break when you had your redneck training session... I bet you also missed the lesson on how to spit tobacco into an empty beer can and how to keep your double wide on the ground during a hurricane as well :o) Partymusic, I'm sorry nobody has done anything for you in the last 7 years... sometimes I wish we here on the CF could start our own neighborhood or compound or something so we could all be together and enjoy and celebrate and all that happy stuff :o) Ellen, I'm going for LPN... some hospitals aren't hiring them anymore, but it's a stepping stone to get to RN. The RN classes here are hard to get into and have long waiting lists and one is more readily accepted if they are already and LPN and do a bridge program... I have to take an admission test in January and I've already purchases a huge thick study guide so I can brush up on all the stuff I forgot since high school... at least there are things called Youtube tutorials now :o)

Thanks! Just saw this. I wasn't at the computer last night much. Yesterday was quiet. We celebrated with my DS & DDIL last weekend & DH has a 'surprise' for me this coming weekend. Plus, he's taken a day off work (Monday) to spend with me as part of my BD present...best present in the world is extra time with DH!

I'm getting old. Don't think I'll 'do' birthdays anymore! :)
