Comments (14)And here I thought this thread was going to be someone talking about being snowed in...(like I was last week!). Sheila...congrats on the weight loss! Remember what they teach you at WW...it's a lifestyle change! So, look at the recipe and convert it to lower cal substitutes. Fake brown sugar (the Splenda type) instead of brown sugar, fat free half-n-half instead of whole milk, egg substitute instead of egg yolks, low cal/high fiber bread, etc. It may not be the "real" thing, but I'll bet that if you really wanted it, you could get the recipe down to something within your range. YOU GO GIRL! Personally, I'd eat a handful of pecans and wash them down with some rum. After that, I wouldn't care about the rest of the ingredients!...See Morehalf sour dill pickles the simplest way
Comments (10)I am always happy to hear that people get enjoyment out of my help. Thats why I make an effort to really be active here where I am apprieciated. You will now know that the 2 first jars are vinegar 'topped off', and hae beein made space in the fridge. Had to readjust the fridge shelves for those tall 1/2 gallon jars. Aslo, Mrs. Wages, semes to be offering a few 'refrigerator type' pickle mixes, that need no heat process, but instead do pickling with mostly vinegar instead of a salt water brine. They also have a pickled beet and dilly bean pickle mix now too. Canning Pantry offers these. After the summer and all the heat and busy, I hope to do some Canadian bacon again, as well as a batch of pepperoni, salami, some beer bratwurst, and cheedar cheese sausgaes. If they get me off the steroids and my sense of taste and smell can come back. I expect that most of what I had left in the freezer should be cooked by the end of summer. Tonight, I was actully able to sip lemonaid and almost tasted tart. A friend asked me if I would like to go out for a steak at the Texas Road House. I had to decline, even knowing how tempting it was, as it just wouldn't taste like a steak to me. As you can see, another sleepless night too.. hate being sick....See Moredistal half of leaves brown on toad lily and solomen's seal
Comments (3)Not a viral problem. Much more likely a shortage of water plus, as has been said, it's late season. As for the shortage of water, several things can contribute: 1. Your plants haven't yet developed the extensive root system they need. 2. Shortage of applied water, either rainfall or supplemental -- from a hose. 3. A heat wave during which the roots couldn't keep up with the top's needs. Perhaps you heard the saying about perennials: The 1st year they sleep; the 2nd, they creep; the 3rd, they leap. So, overall, be certain the original root ball is mnoderately moist. Then, be patient. It takes most plants 2 years to root in well, so that they're able to support vigorous top growth according to the kind of plant at hand....See Morehalf off day at Goodwill
Comments (10)Karen, I love your pitcher and bowl. I made several years ago in ceramics. Nice stemware and roses and the little fairy is adorable. The valentine wreath is pretty and I'm sure you'll have fun decorating the others. Is this little Spud hiding behind the candle holder? Maybe you and Kathleen need to watch those kids closer! Your other bunny and the pictures are pretty neat. OK, this is enough to make me want to come visit and go shopping with you!! I have a couple of friends who are heading your way for a few days of EMT training who wanted me to come along but oh no, I have to work.LOL So happy that you found so many neat things at the right price. I hope whoever has the Cottage looking pieces will share with us. They sound pretty neat. Punk...See Moreplllog
