Learn me about lamps & which to ditch (pix)

I'm hoping you can help me understand table lamps. These 16 are all Goodwill finds, except the MCM pair. I am collecting for my future Florida nest that has a frugal, funky, Frenchie, coastal theme. It is a big place at 4 bedrooms, 2600 sq ft, so I'll need MANY lamps.

I don't "get" lamps, so I'm asking whether to ditch any of these. Some could be painted, so shape and size are more the issue than color. Have a peek and tell me which are hopeless and why. I am clueless.

1. MCM. I'm seeing these either side of TV on my 9ft long low cabinet in LR

2. tiered. copper.

3. yellow. white. I can see the yellow on a bedroom dresser. The white said 'Florida'.

4. wicker. ropelike. Maybe lower level gameroom or bedroom desk or dresser. Both seemed coastal casual.

5. seafoam. are these offensive? The color is just right for the queen guestroom bedside tables.

6. ginger jars. Too dated? How about if painted or funkified? Wrapped in twine, or whatever...

7. metal swirls. for the twin guestroom bedside

8. maroon big'uns. Could neutral paint make these workable? They came with shades in perfect condition - a rarity. But they are, er, fat.

Feel free to direct me to lamps 101. I also welcome any thoughts on grouping them or which don't want to play together - bedrooms need 3 each, living areas more. I don't have much invested in these so I can afford to cull. Maybe trade out some bulbous ones for spindle/candlestick? Or trade ceramic for other textures: wood, glass or metal?

I don't care if they are blah, just save me from whisper-behind-my-back ugly.

Thanks!
