Train Rack Help from those who have them
Comments (13)flstella, I don't remember the name of the mounting hardware but we bought it at Sam's and it has an integrated leveler. It swivels side to side, up and down and extends. The TV is a 26" Samsung We have Directv and yes, there is a cable line coming out of the wall behind the TV. This was a DIY and we live out in the country...no code. The faucet is Jado brand. About the TV. It's no longer there :( Before putting a LCD TV in my bathroom (against DH's wishes), I researched it and found many many people had done the same thing (with no problems). I've seen many of them in Parade/Open homes. I have one of the best home ventilation/exhaust fans you can buy (Panasonic Whisper Warm). First, I felt really guilty for the over indulgence. I didn't watch it that much and the guilt for insisting DH go to the trouble to install it on top of the "excess & vanity" was eating away at me :( Then the remote stopped working. Changed the batteries, called Samsung and they sent out a new remote. Still didn't work. The TV worked but the remote function stopped working. I can't be 100% sure it was a direct result of the steam from my air tub. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't. I returned the TV to Amazon. Felt like I'd be remiss if I didn't mention this. Comments (122)Ha, Stinky! My DH is..."slow to change". He does the exact same thing in the exact same order every morning and gets all out of sorts when he is forced to make accommodations. I've only been married 4 years, but I've learned it is much easier to change the environment than try to force change by direction. He just digs in his heels. Example: about 6 months ago I wanted to hire housekeeper. DH said it was unnecessary. I dropped the idea for a few months. I then started talking about how the dog got lonely during the day when we are at work and how nice it would be if someone would come keep her company. And now, we have a housekeeper who walks the dog..! I don't think I'm being sneaky or devious, but now we are both happy. Sometimes a different approach is needed. He may say the same things about me. But anyway, that's a long explanation of why simply telling DH that he is making a mess by wadding up the towels on the bars won't work. So having hooks may be my way around it. Back to topic, though, I was thinking of something like these from RH? Do they look like the towel would stay on well?...See MoreTell Me About Home Goods: Worth It?
Comments (70)Since this thread last appeared, I bought two really comfortable linen chairs for my LR (an updated wing back shape) - one at our HomeGoods store and one at a Marshall's about 25 miles away. Also found some towels I really like -- bought three sets after searching for months and finding only the same not-right colors nothing but solids or solids with embroidery. I was bored with all those and was relieved to find a couple of patterns and a fun color. That's on top of my 3 wool rugs, chunky crystal lamps and a lot of my All-Clad and bakeware. I've been told our store gets deliveries 6 days a week. If you see something you like, you'd better put in in your cart while you think about it. With both my stainless and the chairs, I got what I could and called around to find another, risking a return if I didn't find them -- but I did....See MorePottery Barn?
Comments (7)Yes, mayflowers. That's the one. Quite a bargain @ $159 on clearance, and another 15% off on top. My Kohler Artifacts rack cost me about $340 well over a year ago, and the Mercer is much prettier. I ordered the Mercer train rack as well as the expandable tub caddy and a double towel bar. Thank you all for the clarifications, especially the metal and forging issues. I think I will love it -- and I had better. At that price, there are no returns! LOL....See Moremadtown_2006_gw
