Bathroom Towel Bar
Comments (12)I trust you have obvious accommodation for guests to dry their hands....otherwise they will use the towels you have. I can't imagine putting anything in my powder room that I wouldn't expect guests to use....I have mouthwash with plastic cups, hand lotion, soap, towels, tissues, spare TP...it's all for them. I've thought about using the paper guest towels, but we are on a septic system and I'm afraid people may try to flush them and cause all kinds of plumbing issues I'd rather not have....so instead I have plenty of towels to be used. Otherwise, as suero suggests, tie them up. Perhaps you can compromise with usable towels...perhaps in white cotton so they can be washed many times without issue... paired with a tied up decorative....See MoreHelp! Comments (4)Can you create a small 2" thick mounting block to put behind the posts to bring the towel bar forward? Cut a circle the same size of the post so you don't really see it or make it larger so you could router a decorative edge on it to make it look intentional or bevel it so it seems to melt into the wall ....See MoreI want to do a gallery wall in my bathroom ...
Comments (23)Well, I went ahead and bought new towels. I had been trying to match towels in various shades of pinks and greens and blues and corals in this room for so long, and finally decided to stop fighting to incorporate those specific colors and just go with a simple sand color instead. It works! Now the towels don't fight the artwork and vice versa, but sort of blend in better. I bought this painting from a Mercari seller today and will probably find a spot for it in this room. It's not very big, so should be easy to place....See MoreShould I use towel bars that match my bathroom faucet?
Comments (10)Tara, good point. I ended up getting my faucet early - Contractor needed it. I did realize by wanting all the grab bars for aging in place, I was going to have to go chrome instead of my preferred polished nickel (in my case). So I did that. My own towel bars are on the other side of the room - and the lone hook for my bathrobe is behind the door (and yup, cannot be seen). I fell in love with a double towel bar, and it is situated over the forced air heating vent - awesome in winter. And no, this doesn't match other fixtures (except in material), but doesn't look out of place....See Moreoutsideplaying_gw
