Fire in breaker box, pics

I posted a little over a week ago about the fire at my neighbors house. It was an electrical fire that started at the top entrance of the circuit breaker box due likely to a loose connection that sparked. It burned down through the box and fortunately burned itself out just below the box.

Can you imagine how hot the sparking of the burning wires was to have burned the baseball sized hole through the door of the circuit breaker box. There was a few spatters of molten metal on the side of a nearby freezer and on the cement floor. That was all the physical damage to the house. The fire would likely have been much more serious if the sparking or molten metal had come in contact with something more burnable. So inspect your breaker box and make sure that easily flamable items are not close by.
