I lined my plate drawers with Cushy Cupboards. The plates do not move at all. I love them!

I did the cushy cupboards stuff too. My plates lean a bit, but they don't shift. I'd recommend it.

How deep are your plate drawers?

I don't want to hijack, but for the other plate/glasses-in-drawer people, do I need to worry about the strength of the bottom of the drawer? My plates aren't made of lead, but I'm worried the bottom of the drawer will give out. Is the drawer as solid as a shelf? Am I worried for nothing?

I've lined all my drawers with Cushy Cupboard liners. They are wonderful. Everything slide so easily.

I have never heard of Cushy Cupboard liners. What are they? Are they those rubbery type mats that you cut from the rolls to fit your drawer?

So you all don't have any dividers between the plates and they don't knock around at all?

Ikea had some adjustable plateholders in which we stacked our plates in our other house. Not sure yet where I'll keep my plates in the new kitchen (we have a few options).

My plate drawers look about like lsandler's. They are lined with a thin, spongy liner that I got at Lowes. Is that what Cushy Cupboards is like? Between the Blum undermount glides with soft close and the liner, nothing moves. The drawer bottoms are 1/4" birch plywood and seem to be quite sturdy. I can't believe how much I like my dishes in drawers.

In my last kitchen, I stored my stoneware in a drawer. I used a pegboard with plastic "posts" to keep the stacks in place. Eventually I removed some of the posts because I kept banging my knuckles on them, and discovered that they aren't necessary. In my new kitchen, the dishes will also be in a drawer but I won't bother with the posts at all. I do like the idea of the liner, though.

My dishes were heavy, and I never had a problem with the drawer bottoms.
