Recipe of the day Feb 22 - Home made Mustard Sauce!

I make this all the time. It's sweet and flavorful and has just a bit of heat. I like to double the recipe. It keeps in a jar in the fridge for months.

Mild Mustard Sauce

2 T Club House or McCormick Ground Mustard (or any finely ground mustard)

1 T all purpose flour

¼ C water

Mix together as a paste, let stand for 10 minutes to allow flavour to develop. Stir in:

¼ C brown sugar

1/3 C vinegar

¾ tsp salt

Bring to boil over medium heat. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Cool and store in refrigerator. Makes 2/3 C. Use as glaze for ham and chicken or as a sauce with sausages, prepared meats, roast pork or beef or in potato and macaroni salads.
