LG = Large Garbage. I dropped $2000 on a LG washer and dryer. The dryer had to be replaced within a week because the door gasket allowed air to escape making a whistling sound. It whistled while it worked, loud enough to hear at the other end of my house. The washer will not clean clothes well no matter what we do. Four service calls have been made, no one showed up for the fifth, and LG will not replace or make a refund. The problems? Not enough water and there is dirt and lint on top of the door glass after each use! LG said that there is no way there will be dirt or lint on the door glass. No matter what cycle we choose or what extras we add, all the water the machine adds is 5 gallons. (After a large load, I allowed the machine to drain into a 5 gallon plastic bucket after the wash and rinse cysles and it filled up the bucket once plus a little more in another.) LG customer service stated that for a large load, 13 gallons would be used and with their "Water Plus" feature, an extra 3 liters would be added. To top it all, the repairman who came out the first three times, told me my clothes were to dirty for the LG washer and that I needed to get a $50 trade-in to wash my blue jeans. He also told me that the dryer would require two cycles to dry completely. That he was right about. His advice also was to stop using liquid detergent and liquid softener because they gummed up the interior of the washer, use 1/2 of the recommended HE detergent and to start using dryer sheets. All are not recommended by the LG instruction manual. LG = Large Garbage. LG = AKA Gold Star. Save your money and find something else that really works. BTW The top loading 15 year old Whirlpool that was replaced by the LG was on its last legs before it was replaced. On its last day in my house, it did a better job of washing than the LG did on its first day. Save your money. There are better brands available!

My FL Samsung 338 spins at some 1300 RPM and my clothes do not end up in a ball up knot or wrinkled mass at the end of the wash cycle. In fact, my clothes are less wrinkled with this W/D set than they have been with any set Ive used. I could wear my clothes right out of the dryerÂbut I suffer from OCD so I iron everything, including my sheets, before I put them away. My experience thus far with the Samsung is very positive: gets clothing very clean; extremely quiet; gentle on my clothes; large capacity; offers many wash options including a warm rinse cycle, a steam clean, a quick wash cycle of 34 minutes and a rinse only option. It has a delayed start so I can load the machine at night and have a load ready for the dryer as soon as I get up in the morning so I get a jump on the laundry chore. The steam clean really works to get out stains. I thought it was a gimmick until I tried it on a bunch of towels that a full container of cola spilled on; it happened during our move when we were without a W/D for a week. Not only were the towels stained, but very stinky. I didn't expect the towels to come clean, but the steam feature got both the stains and the smell out. It also has brighten up my whites (I can't use bleach due to allergies and psoriasis) to the point that my husband actually noticed. I donÂt like to dry my clothes bone dry and this dryer allows me to dry my clothes to the point where there is just a tab bit of moisture left in them without my having to babysit the machine. All I have to do is lower the temperature on the machine to med low and set the timed dry to 40 minutes and the clothes come out just like I like them. Just a note on delivery: whatever brand you decide on, if you purchase pedestals just be adamant with the installers about NOT turning your machine upside down to install the pedestals. Some manufactures are now starting to go after the dealers about this; nonetheless, many dealers are still turning the machines upside down to install the pedestals because the machines are very heavy and itÂs more convenient to install the pedestals this way. Some installers will try to tell you itÂs ok to turn the washer upside down with the shipping bolts in placeÂnot true. Turning the washer upside down can damage the tub, knock it out of alignment, or other damage can occur in the process as the machines are very heavy. Even after the Samsung rep went to my local Lowes and told them to stop turning the washers upside down, the installer tried to tell me it was okay for him to turn the machine upside with the bolts in place. When the installer turned my dryer upside down, I made him take it back to the store and I called the Operations Manager for a little talk. (I stopped him before he turned the washer upside down. I made it very clear that if I am paying for the W/D, no one was turning anything upside downÂand I donÂt care if SamsungÂs rep said it was okay to turn the dryer upside down. A new dryer was sent out and it was not turned upside down. Bottom line: your money; your machines; you have a right to have the machine properly handled.

greetings everyone, i'm new here, but have been reading over all the comments... i'm glad to know i'm not the only one who's had issues with the LE error code... i actually found this forum looking for advice on that very thing. my now wife (girlfriend at the time) bought the lg washer and dryer while i was out of town of business about a year ago. at the time i thought it was a huge waste to spend that much, but now i don't know how i ever did laundry without them lol. ours worked fine until about 5 months ago when it threw the first code. i did all the things the book said and waited for a service tech. i wish now i'd paid better attention because i don't remember what he did, but there is a series of buttons that put the washer into a test cycle. anyway everything tested fine, he said it was probably a glitch in the computer board. he said he'd replaced several of them already with the same problem... hadn't had a problem since till tonight when it happened again. this time i just killed the breaker for about 10 minutes (because the plugs way to hard to get to) and then i came back on and is finishing up now (just heard it beeping) i wanted to thank louisaemma for the info on cleaning and the fabric softner... we've always used the he detergent but it never crossed my mind to use less softner... I'll be cleaning it first thing in the morning. oh and another thing... i'm not sure to the certainty of this but according to my wife because we have the extended warranty through best buy if we report 3 problems requiring service in a year they have to replace the unit... or a much easier route would be getting a service tech nice enough to just swap out the boards for you if the problem persists... thanks for letting me ramble

These spots have been driving me absolutely mad for 5 years now! This thread makes me feel seen. lol We have an LG front loader. It is 10 years old. I have tried everything! There are usually 1-3 pieces that are affected in every other cycle. happens to both white and light colored pieces of differing material. Ive tried everything -different cycle temps, powder vs liquid, very small detergent amounts, running the ”tub clean” cycle with bleach, vinegar, and oxyclean cleaning packets. Everything! I use Tide free and clear, I only wash extremely small loads with level 1 or 2 (cap measurment), wipe the seals down, always keep the door wide open (not just cracked) after every cycle, i promptly take the items out after the cycle ends, etc . It’s so maddening! I get anxiety everytime i run a load. i cant tell you how many brand new kids clothes have been ruined! we dont wear any lotion, sunblock, hair gel, etc. Any advice??? Anyone able to successully get LG to do anything? thank you!
