You can control your browser and the ads by switching to Firefox and using AdBlock. Simple as that.

Everybody doesn't want to switch to Firefox, assuming that the Vibrant ads can be permantly disabled...me being one.
The ads CAN be disabled through IE by opting out EVERY time you open the GW site. I personally despise those green underlines that show an ad if you happen to hover anywhere near them. They're the most annoying form of online advertising I know. I'll throw my KT shortcut in the trash.

I remember how horrible it was if you read the notice on top of this page there is an OPT out available I think I'll use it once it starts

I use Firefox and when I went to disable them via FF there was no place to click.

I then went to the link via IE and saw the disable button. I'm left wondering if they maybe won't bother FF or if I maybe already have something in place that would block them, since I didn't see the button. I guess time will tell.

Rather than 'pay to play' I can either disable them, or just learn to deal with them and not hover the cursor anywhere but at the side, if possible.

There are a lot of sites that use this, but I guess it doesn't bother me that much.

Well, I chose to opt out when I went in to read the announcement knowing full well that I would have to do it every time or change the settings to not delete cookies each day. Either way, it's a pita to do whether it's every day or periodically. I guess only time will tell if I will get used to it.

I've seen that kind of advertising elsewhere and it bugs the heck out of me. It seems to me I've seen it even though I've been using FF for a long time. You do learn to avoid moving your mouse over those green things. I'm glad to see they offer an option to disable it.

Just to be clear. I don't object to the advertising as long as it doesn't pop up in the middle of what I'm trying to read. The banners across the top and ads down the side are fine. It seems to me that instead of one add that stays forever, they could stream several different ones for a specified period of time. After all, the commercials on TV and radio are bought by the second, 30 second, 60 second, etc. jmho.

I never see ads or pop ups. When Spike had this group I remember paying $15 a year, for this I never saw any advertising. Maybe that is still the reason I don't see
ads. I'm thankful I don't, regardless of the reason!!!

I copied the link, and stored it to Favorites. When my cookies are wiped out (happens whenever a cleanup occurs on my PC) then I'll be able to go right back to the site and opt out again.
