After living with the (boring) neutrals that were in the house when we moved here 15 years ago, we just finished painting all of our upstairs rooms and I love all the colors. Hard to pick a favorite, as each was chosen to go with the light and furnishings in that particular room. What I probably love most is the Atrium White trim and how it plays nicely with all of the somewhat intense colors we chose. All have LRVs around 30: Louisburg Green, Van Cortland Blue, Richmond Gold, Summerdale Gold are all lovely. In the bath, which gets lots of western light and has bright white fixtures and shower curtain, we went more intense with Philipsburg Blue. I couldn't be happier.

Another pretty green! Just take your color chip into S-W and they will match it perfectly for you. I did that all the time last year when choosing my colors because I wanted to use S-W's paint (Harmony, no-VOC line). Hard to tell on the monitor, but would Olive Branch go with very light gray? Last year I fell in love with SW Svelte Sage and have it adjacent to SW Blonde. I used the very top strip on the Blonde (forget the color now--Navajo white?) for the ceilings throughout the adjoining areas (our newly finished basement). Tracey

misstifyftl-I have camouflage througout my main floor. I had brought home so many samples and when I painted a large portion on my wall of the camo I instantly liked it. I love how it goes with silver, white, black , wood toned frames. It seemed to be the neutral I was looking for with some color. Then I got it all on the walls and thought it looked yucky. I hired a designer to help me out. I too do not like too much color. I almost painted my home RH silver sage because I love it. But in my home all of my favorite colors took on too much color and looked dark or too deeply pigmented. I've decided that my favorite colors will be used as accents and that it's not about color necessarily it's how you layer and add texture through accessorizing. I'm no designer this is just my opinion. Back to the designer-She suggested SW sea salt for my kitchen to flow with the camo, however I have an open floor plan and this was to flow with some blue and cream pinstripe curtains in the living room. Or she recomended BM silver marlin depending on the shade of blue in the fabric. So I'm assuming these colors go. Also, check out BM manchester tan and BM muslin. The gal at my local store, who is amazing with color, suggested these to go with camouflage. If you'd like I can post pics but will have to get back to you as I'm in a little hurry right now. Oh and by the way the camouflage has really grown on me. There are some times of the day where I don't love it depending on the lighting and other times of the day when I love it. Thanks to all of you. Everyone has been so helpful. Red I went today and got a sample of dry sage. Very moody color. Its reading blue gray so far. Not thinking it's the one but wont rule it out til tomarrow. Most of the house was painted BM match to Laura Ashley gold 2. Including the master. I said I wanted to move in before I picked the colors to get a feel for everything and we could just paint over the gold 2. I know...not too smart. I just had the kitchen and breakfast painted last week in Ralph Lauren lincolnshire olive matched to BM paint. Love that color. Alittle too gray for master though. Jant Since the room is light now I don't feel the warmth in the room. I really need some coziness in there. but I dont want it to feel like a cave either. I am in agreement with totallyconfused and irish on the pastels of the past. Went there myself and have no intentions on going back. monablair I love seeing your pics. They make me want olive branch more than ever. It shows me that it goes with all my elements. Cherry furniture, white trim and burgandy. I have'nt tried rosemary sprig or flowering herbs. I think I figured out my problem with the baby turtle. The decorators white trim and stark white ceiling. Which might be ok in good natural light. If my trim was wood I think I'd like it more. Or atleast a warm white trim. Maybe even no trim at all. All the white makes it more muddy (or something) than it probably is. Where as the olive branch and white compliment eachother. Am I in a late night paint fumed delusion or does that make sense to anyone? Thanks again everyone. You all may have saved a marriage. lol
