Life of an 18 month old...(pic)

Grant was sitting on Brents lap the whole time he was eating dinner. Some commercial on tv caught his eye and made him squeal in excitement. I think this picture is so cute.

And here are two best buddies waiting for my mom to show up this morning, leaning on each other (well, Grant was doing the leaning, Dakota was tolerating).

Steph...he is such a doll...

When my son Jeff was that age....Denny left a ladder leaned up against a large maple tree we had out back...

I went out back to check on him and could not find him....then I heard a little voice saying Hi mommy....I looked up and there he was waaaay up in the tree out on a branch...
Me...the over protective mom left him out there all of a min. He always just saw danger and headed straight for it.

We had one of those great big wooden spools that I had dragged home thinking I would moasic the top and use it for a table...I rolled it over and stood up on it under the branch. I still couldn't reach him...But when I was reaching my hand up to see if I could reach, he reached down for me and slid off the branch.
I grabbed his hand and swung him down so I could grab him....

I went inside (so did he) and sit down and nearly had a heart attack...

It was just the beginning...it got a LOT worse...

I absolutely love those pictures of him. He is definately a very happy little boy. And he is sure intent on waiting for Grandma.

McT, Iron Gate Delight is in front of Big John. Who is in the top, right corner behind your Ebb Tide? My Ebb Tide gets morning Sun and has always had the edge. Maybe you could ask about your Ebb Tide's edge on the main Discussion board. Someone there may have insight as to whether it will eventually get the edge. The edges of Ebb Tide, Satisfaction, Liberty, Montana Aureomarginata and Magic Fire are favorites of mine. Ebb Tide and Satisfaction were purchased from a local nursery in '06. They sold their Hostas for $6 a Hosta or 4 for $20. The catch was most of the Hostas had crispy edges and slug holes; they also had huge roots. Here are two photos of Abiqua Moonbeam purchased from that nursery about the same time as Ebb Tide and Satisfaction. I didn't get a photo right when Abiqua Moonbeam was planted, but you can see the new growth without the slug holes. How about the plant the following year? No six month photos until after Christmas for me, I don't know what I was doing not to get photos for about a week back in June. More tile coming loose - 18 months after install

I just wanted to make sure we had covered every possible reason *besides* installation, so installer can't say it was structural, shrinkage as wood dried out, etc. - everything he was trying to say last year. We are always telling DD no to run in the house b/c it shakes the whole floor (and she's only 40 lb!) so was wondering if we have too much deflection. I think installer should have known that if we do (or at least figured it based on joist size/spacing), but he'd just say he put down what I asked him to - incl. the 1/4" Hardibacker that I bought so he wouldn't have to haul it here in his van (since I was buying so much stuff from HD I rented a truck to get it all home - Trex and stuff that wouldn't fit in my SUV). Even that, I asked if he wanted to put 1/4" under the Nuheat and 1/2" everywhere else (mainly to try to make up the diff. in height with 1 extra coat of thinset plus the 1/8" mat). He said no, he could level it out - NOT! My floor slopes from end of mat to edge of carpet 18" or so away. Didn't notice it with shoes on, by the time I moved in and floors were clean enough for socks it was too late to have him pull it up (ruin mat?) and redo the whole 13ft edge. Of course that's the area of the kitchen that hasn't come loose yet.

MaryAnn...LOL...he keeps telling me Abby's been riding the waves and I bout half believe him...the man is so obsessed with his furkids...if I gave him the idea for a Boogie board...he'd probably go get them one...LOL...Today is Saturday and the beach is really crowded so their gonna have a blast visiting with the peeps...we've got to get these dogs trained as therapy dogs...Hubster would have a blast taking them around to all the nursing homes in our area!

Ohhh kids!!! My friend had a "painter". Her daughter wanted to be naked 24/7. She finally found a solution: she dressed the baby in her pjs backwards so the girl couldn't get at the snaps/zippers. That stumped her for a while! lol Kids will be uncomfortable in poop whether it's in their diaper or underwear. Sounds like she was in her crib, sleeping, so Mom wouldn't have known right away. Even though, kids are QUICK! Is she ready to be potty trained? Who knows? There are signs she will show you. But there will also be a new baby soon, and they generally say to avoid training while there are big upheavels in her life. There is no one age perfect for all kids. My girls couldn't care less until they were nearly 3. I definitely learned you can't force them. As for the crib/big bed, thankfully, mine weren't climbers. They loved their crib, like it was a cozy little nook. I don't think it ever occurred to them to climb out! Which is funny since my 4 year old climbs anything and everything now! Good Luck!

Poor Harry; he needs an 18-month-old boy. Harry would LOVE him!

I can't decide which photo I like best -- they're both great but polar opposites. They're both winners. :-)

The second one is like Dakota is saying, "Don't worry, kid, I've got your back..."

I think those are about the best two pictures you've ever posted of him, Steph. I LOVE that look on his face, and waiting for Grandma...both are just great.

Oh did this ever put a smile on my face this morning!!!
I noticed the GB's had favorite commericals on tv too when they were younger. Maddie LOVED the diaper ones!! LOL She was just a little squirt and would point to the tv and laugh and say "bebe". Grant sure looks like he loved whatever this was!!

Awwww and the waiting for Mimi pic! Priceless. Only a Gramma would know how very sweet that is to see!!
I used to go watch Hunter when he was this age, every week while his Mom taught a dance class for girls. I'd pull up, and as soon as I got out of the car see this lil grinning face looking out the window and he'd bang on it and laugh and then run to the door to meet me!!! I'm glad you have a low enough window too for Grant to see the world! (and watch for his loved ones!)

caroline, I have no idea what commercial it was. I wasnt paying attention to the tv. I just knew it wasnt the show we were watching and all of a sudden he got super excited. Probably something with a dog maybe. Or a baby.

Steph, you should print that bottom picture and put it in a frame with "..waiting for Grandma.." put on the frame somehow. That is such a cute picture!
And I love the first pic too. Grant is such a cutie and such a happy little guy!
