Life of an 18 month old...(pic)

Grant was sitting on Brents lap the whole time he was eating dinner. Some commercial on tv caught his eye and made him squeal in excitement. I think this picture is so cute.

And here are two best buddies waiting for my mom to show up this morning, leaning on each other (well, Grant was doing the leaning, Dakota was tolerating).

Steph...he is such a doll...

When my son Jeff was that age....Denny left a ladder leaned up against a large maple tree we had out back...

I went out back to check on him and could not find him....then I heard a little voice saying Hi mommy....I looked up and there he was waaaay up in the tree out on a branch...
Me...the over protective mom left him out there all of a min. He always just saw danger and headed straight for it.

We had one of those great big wooden spools that I had dragged home thinking I would moasic the top and use it for a table...I rolled it over and stood up on it under the branch. I still couldn't reach him...But when I was reaching my hand up to see if I could reach, he reached down for me and slid off the branch.
I grabbed his hand and swung him down so I could grab him....

I went inside (so did he) and sit down and nearly had a heart attack...

It was just the beginning...it got a LOT worse...

I absolutely love those pictures of him. He is definately a very happy little boy. And he is sure intent on waiting for Grandma.

Thanks Cher, that's much appriciated =) Ken - Most definetely, I'll get some better pics this week and post in a new thread. I have a semi round bed to the right of the arbor that I'm working on for fall plantings. Right now I have roundup down waiting for the grass to die. coniferjoy - You never know... I'm not sure how large this project will get 15-20 years from now =)... If I run out of room in my backyard, it'll be time for more brush cutting lol. I have another 200 x 500 feet on standby just incase. I actually took my yard back 50 feet just to make room for those beds. I'm relieved I didn't spell any of the other names wrong. Will get Wingle's Weeper fixed.

Steph, Grant is so handsome and I love it when you post his smiling face. My Great Nephew Joey is one month older and isn't walking unaided yet. They grow up so fast though don't they? I was just catching up on posts from last week and read your Mom's post how you had to be rushed to the hospital. My heart was in my mouth reading it. I was glad to read your updates that you are doing okay but I am sure you were quite scared. So how are Jenni's " grandchillins" coming along? Any baby news yet? Anne

I can't wait to find out what he decides to call you. Me, too, Quilly! Wildchild, when is your grandchild due? We can look forward to your pictures! can you imagine how much you'd be paying to buy film and have it developed. Yes, I can imagine--because I did exactly that with my three children and the first 8 years or so of Lizzie's life. Oy! But the best part of digital photography is the ability to share to my heart's content. ;-) Thank you all!

Just had a thought for a narrow marble shelf that won't break the bank... I was browsing at Home Depot the other day and saw the marble thresholds that are used to transition floor finishes at the door. I picked up one that is 6" x 36" x 3/8" for about $12. They also had 4" x 24" and 4" x 36" pieces. Those have a little bit of a beveled edge and were about 1/2" thick. The one I bought is marked Bianco Carrara but they had another, more tan, type also. I am hoping (hoping!) the tile guy can trim this down a little bit to make a small shelf above the range for salt & pepper, etc. (If not, I have the receipt!) I think the HD guy thought I was a little crazy when I had all of their thresholds spread out on the floor so I could choose the "prettiest" one. It is pretty - nice veining, etc. Some were not so nice so I am glad I took the time to choose the best one.

Poor Harry; he needs an 18-month-old boy. Harry would LOVE him!

I can't decide which photo I like best -- they're both great but polar opposites. They're both winners. :-)

The second one is like Dakota is saying, "Don't worry, kid, I've got your back..."

I think those are about the best two pictures you've ever posted of him, Steph. I LOVE that look on his face, and waiting for Grandma...both are just great.

LOL If you don't smile when you see that first pic...well, there is just something wrong with you! LOL

I KNOW that has to just make Jenni's heart hurt with joy when she sees her two waiting for her! So cute.

Oh did this ever put a smile on my face this morning!!!
I noticed the GB's had favorite commericals on tv too when they were younger. Maddie LOVED the diaper ones!! LOL She was just a little squirt and would point to the tv and laugh and say "bebe". Grant sure looks like he loved whatever this was!!

Awwww and the waiting for Mimi pic! Priceless. Only a Gramma would know how very sweet that is to see!!
I used to go watch Hunter when he was this age, every week while his Mom taught a dance class for girls. I'd pull up, and as soon as I got out of the car see this lil grinning face looking out the window and he'd bang on it and laugh and then run to the door to meet me!!! I'm glad you have a low enough window too for Grant to see the world! (and watch for his loved ones!)

caroline, I have no idea what commercial it was. I wasnt paying attention to the tv. I just knew it wasnt the show we were watching and all of a sudden he got super excited. Probably something with a dog maybe. Or a baby.

Steph, you should print that bottom picture and put it in a frame with "..waiting for Grandma.." put on the frame somehow. That is such a cute picture!
And I love the first pic too. Grant is such a cutie and such a happy little guy!
