Grant at 18 months (update & pic)

So my not so little baby (anymore) turned 18 months old this last Saturday. Boo Hoo! He had his 18 month check up yesterday and is doing great. He says about 30 words and new ones pop up every day. He is 27lbs (60%) and 35" tall (98%). His doctor said he's the height of an average 30 month old. Crazy!! Everyone always thinks he's older than he is because of his height.

He's an incredibly happy little guy, is stubborn as heck, loves to goof off and be chased and is very mommy-clingy!!! :-)

Can I come over and play? He's adorable! I'm highly skilled at peanutbutter and jam sandwiches, hide and seek, simon says, finger painting and helping to fold laundry.

These stories are terrific. I'm so enjoying them & am glad you're sending them to the forum, not only to keep us abreast and for our entertainment, but so you've got a record with fresh details of your journey. All the little events that make the ride so special would be lost down the memory hole if you'd tried to recall them after the trip. Life is more colorful in Louisiana, isn't it? Oh did this ever put a smile on my face this morning!!! I noticed the GB's had favorite commericals on tv too when they were younger. Maddie LOVED the diaper ones!! LOL She was just a little squirt and would point to the tv and laugh and say "bebe". Grant sure looks like he loved whatever this was!! Awwww and the waiting for Mimi pic! Priceless. Only a Gramma would know how very sweet that is to see!! I used to go watch Hunter when he was this age, every week while his Mom taught a dance class for girls. I'd pull up, and as soon as I got out of the car see this lil grinning face looking out the window and he'd bang on it and laugh and then run to the door to meet me!!! I'm glad you have a low enough window too for Grant to see the world! (and watch for his loved ones!) What a sweet boy Grant is!

Grant is the cutest little guy! Love seeing pics of him. My grands are getting so old, lol, the oldest now is 13, but still my special little girl, as she lived with us the first 18 months of her life with my daughter while finishing her senior year of high school and such. Was not the ideal thing at the time, but I would not want to change it for the world now! Thanks for sharing pics of your special little guy.

Thanks, but i have some really good stuff from the vet. It is a pink salve that is thick and you pat it on and then wrap it in Saran wrap so it doesn't absorb into the outer wrap, and wrap it with vetwrap. We haven't even listed this place yet. It is such a godawful mess. Have had several people come look at it anyway. A lot of people like it but haven't got the money and we can't finance it for them because we need the money out of it to buy another place. If Jody would come home and help me, I might be able to get it cleaned up better. Two areas still have a lot of hurricane debris. We are on a big curve in the bayou and the water came straight across our place, carrying everything you can imagine. The first two months we worked on fixing a fence down one side of the property, which gave the horses a place so they could come home from down the road. Then it has rained so much, and that was a small pasture, so turned them out and it rained some more, and then it rained more night before last and it is a horrible muddy mess. The "regular" horses are out together. The two fillies were in with the donkeys, but got out, so went to the round pen...and now with all the mud, they are in the barn. Emery is in the barn, and Snoop is in about an acre sized lot that is around the barn. Snoop isn't standing in mud and he has a stall he can run in out of the weather. But the mud around the barn is awful. I hurt my back day before yesterday from trying to pull my foot (boot) out of the mud. It's not like you can quickly walk anywhere around this place. We need some dirt work done. We had the guy with the bulldozer here for three or four days but he had another job he had to get to. He said he isn't busy in January, so Jody said he would have him out then to do some more work. However, it is much too muddy to do anything. So.....I am more or less marking time....waiting for the weather to get better. I am so cold natured, and I have a very hard time walking in the mud....and carrying everything I have to carry to the barn, because I don't have a good place to store my feed and hay....which is why I go to the feed store every day. January is always our worst month...so just waiting for it to pass.

I keep saying he looks so much older all the time....must be the height! Is Brent tall? He's so cute! What a handsome little guy!

He is a cute lil guy!

Don't pay much attention to all the percentiles. DD was at 98% in her height too and the doctor kept saying she was going to be really tall. Well today at 18 she is 7 inches shorter than me and stands at 5'3"!

He is precious and must be very smart, also. My little granddaughter is 18 months old. Unless we just don't understand what she is saying, I don't think she says 30 words yet. She does a lot of jabbering and I have a feeling she will be a talker when she gets bigger. Her mom is a talker and my son is a man of few words... maybe it'll balance out. lol
What size shoe does he wear? Ava wears a 4 1/2 or 5. Her feet are BIG. She hates to wear shoes.

Grant has 16 teeth right now. He wears a size 6 1/2-7 shoe. He has big fat feet. It's hard to get shoes on him because of how fat his feet are.

That's funny about his feet.....I remember when you had pictures of his feet on his birth announcement.

My kids all had big feet, too. Inherited them from their Dad....my DH wears a size 16 shoe!

Have enjoyed watching him grow......

Big Feet means he is probably going to grow into his feet. My Son did. He is 6' 2". My GS has big feet too.

You may have a basketball star there. LOL!

Cutie! He does look older then 18mon (which still is baby to me) His face seems more "mature" or something?

Do you think you might send him to a pre-school this fall? Next year? The 2 classes are limited around here, so Olivia stayed home with me, but in Sept she'll go two days a week! I'd say it would be a nice break except I'll have a newborn then!

Olivia has BIG feet! She turned 3 in Nov and she wears a 10 or 10 1/2. Most of her friends that wear that size are a full year older. Oh well, she'll really tall too, so that plays into it.

Teresa, I hadn't planned on sending him to preschool until he was 3 but it now kinda depends on what happens with pregnancy. If I'm pregnant now and it ends up being twins, I'll probably send him earlier. Just for a couple days a week for a few hours a day, not too long. But it would help me out so I'm just going to wait and see what happens.

He's such a cute toddler. Hard to believe he'll be 2 in a few short months. My DS also had big feet from birth. The first thing the dr. said when he was born was that both his hands & feet were big for a newborn & he was gonna be tall. He was right - he's about 6'2" today.

My daughters were always over the percentiles for height and weight. They are now lovely young ladies of 18 and 19. The time just went by like a flash. Enjoy Grant as much as you can. And keep posting photos. I love Grant!

Steph, Grant is so handsome and I love it when you post his smiling face. My Great Nephew Joey is one month older and isn't walking unaided yet. They grow up so fast though don't they?

I was just catching up on posts from last week and read your Mom's post how you had to be rushed to the hospital. My heart was in my mouth reading it. I was glad to read your updates that you are doing okay but I am sure you were quite scared.

So how are Jenni's " grandchillins" coming along? Any baby news yet?
