Soup from corn stock

Several years ago DD#3 was living in Birmingham and we went to a really neat restaurant, Standard Bistro, which I recall was a little south of Birmingham. Anyhow, on the menu was a corn soup and I don't think it was titled corn chowder. I think it was probably using corn stock. The soup was very light and try as I may I don't remember the ingredients except it was wonderful. You could taste each of the veggies that were in it, although I couldn't tell you what they were. The chef chose not to share his recipe.

Yesterday, I was making cream style corn for the freezer and I put aside 4 of the ears, and saved the cobs after the corn was cut off,to make a Tarragon Corn Chowder from Simply Recipes. It was very good but I would like to see if anyone else makes soup using the corn stock and what recipe they use. This recipe uses a lot more corn than the one I had in B'ham. Any help would be appreciated.
