LG 2277 - Need helping solving noise and vibration issues
Comments (5)Hi Paula, welcome to the forum. I have a 1 month old LG 2277 with no vibration issues at all. My step mother has the Samsung made Neptune on a pedestal and has lots of vibration issues which is why I chose not to go with the pedestal. I have noticed that when I don't put enough into the machine that it has a lot harder time balancing the load when going into spin. It vibrates enough for me to feel it in my house but it is never consistently vibrating excessively. I reccomend you experiment with taking the machine off of the pedestal and see how that helps. Good luck, KC...See MoreOk Atlast I got LG Steam washer..
Comments (14)Considering you bought the pedestals, paid taxes and selected the blue machines, I can see why they were that price. I selected a white set of the same model from HD and chose to stack them, rather than putting them on pedestals. Our total price was just a bit under $2,000. The white color saved money, we don't have sales tax, we stacked the set and then received 10% off the dryer due to a dent (that you can't see) and $200 off because their rebate expired before I could get the serial numbers required to submit the rebate. I really like having the units stacked because it allowed me to put a shelving unit and trash can where the dryer used to sit. I've only used the Steam cycle once. You don't exactly see the steam, but it's there. Afterall, the glass in the door does fog up. Seeing steam through fog is kind of ... difficult? Like you I find that the washer could be quieter, but since it's in our garage, we don't hear it. We also bought a warranty for the washer. We considered it for the dryer, but that's such a simple item compared to the washer....See MoreThumping noise in LG DLE 5977 dryer
Comments (13)Man - where was this message board BEFORE I bought my LG washer/dryer set?? My wife and I did considerable research, including following Consumer Reports "Best Buy" guide. I've had nothing but issues with the set: WM2277HS (washer) & DLE5977S (dryer.) We've only had them for ~6 months and they've been serviced 2x already... and we're calling in again today for both! The washer has begun leaking around the seal of the front loading door, the dryer sounds like it's got bowling balls in it (even though it's labeled as "ultra quiet"), and both of them continually become unbalanced on their stands... I'm so happy that we sprung for the extended warranty, which I usually oppose, as I get the feeling we'll be getting our moneys worth!...See MoreNoise from stacked LG mounting
Comments (29)Hi All. I recently fixed the problem of a loud banging on my stacked washer/dryer LG. The vibration from the washer was of course the route cause, along with a floor that was not stable enough to prevent the vibration from increasing. However, I found the source of the banging was a cracked mount for an electrical board in the dryer. I removed the top of the dryer - simple to do with screws in the upper back portion of the shell. On the left hand side (while facing from the front) there is a plastic mount to the side of the dryer that holds an electrical board. The mount is only attached at the top. Overtime, the plastic mount cracked enough to allow the board and mount to slam up against of the side wall of the dryer. I secured the mount with some tape to reduce the motion that it could make and the problem went away. Very same issue lisaz60614 had above, however I used a strong tape to pull the board back away from the dryer sidewall. The tape is secured to the top outside side panel however and is visible....See Moresuburbanmd
