One really stupid/crazy Yorkie.....

I've told you how we have to keep the pit bull and the Yorkie separated because the Yorkie is snippy and snarly to her...

She (the pit) got her once already because she though the Yorkie was attacking me...(I had her toy and barks and growls and runs after my heels.)

When the big dogs are being let out or brought in I always grab her and hold her on my lap...Tonight I wasn't paying attention...

Before we knew what was going on...That darn Yorkie jumped down, ran over to the pit...jumped up and bit her on the butt.

Tajia (don't know how it is spelled) turned around and looked at her ...like...what the heck are you doing, you little dummy. I yelled at Maggie...and she ran and hid in her kennel...

Tajia is fine...I don't think it even broke her skin...

Hurry up warmer weather so the big dogs can stay out....

Please no ragging on me for having the big dogs in the house...that's just the way it is...

Well, where else should they be! It is cold out there!!!! We always had small dogs and they sure don;t realize their size.

Seems she doesn't like the big dogs in the house, huh? Kinda hard to tell a yorkie, her dog buds are paying rent, leave um alone. I hope the pits don't bite on her one day, that would be tough. How do you keep them seperate all day in your house Patti? Seems like quite a job with all the things you put up with. Love and patience go a long way, I'm sure. Still,, I've always tried hard to give my mom space or respect her space when I'm there. I would feel bad if I put my mom in your place. My dogs go to their house almost every time we go. As far as the dogs go, they are on the bottom of the totem pole, Mom and her dh are on the top. Does your family know how things are or do you just think you have to change your ways in order to be a caring mom? Nothing wrong with that, if thats what makes you happy but I sense you might like a change, maybe less stress with the pets. This is none of my business so you don't have to explain a thing to me. Only about two and a half more months and the cold will be about gone.

Things are coming along. In the second picture of the second batch, I moved daylilies over where those bricks were put for placement. Then in the next picture I managed to get a back row of daylilies planted near the back fence there. Taking that Ornamental Grass out was a very good idea. It opened up that whole area there and I had more room than I thought I would have. There are going to be four rows of daylilies there. Some are already there and some to be moved to finish up three of the rows. But I would love to save one row for new purcheses instead of justing moving in somewthing I already had.

I know what it is like to be a new canner, because I am one. In my humble opinion, the only stupid question is the one left unasked. The goal here is to make a product that you can safely to put on yours or your families/friends table with confidence. Again, ccaggiano IMHO it is not stupid to ask any question that you are unsure of and I for one and truely grateful that there are people here who are willing to help us do it safely. There is so much to learn and there is no better place to learn than from those who have been there, done that. We are not born knowing this stuff, that doesn't make a question stupid. You're only suppose to use the print postage for the day it is being mailed. If you print postage for the box you are sending and then print postage for the same amount to include for your return the PO can and probably will refuse it. I had someone send me preprinted postage sticker dated for the day they purchased it and I asked the Postmaster if I could use the stamp to send it package back, they told me no and the reason is: if you purchase the postage preprinted their way of thinking is that it is THEN used because it is supposed to only be good the day of purchase. It is best to send stamps in the amount you need, the have all different ones: 3.95, 4.95, up to I THINK they told me 16.95. OR you could just get 1.00 ones then add the smaller amounts to get the total you need. Tammy, Carmen, Amy....I am sorry but I am such a ditzoid. You know how when you tell yourself NOT to forget something over and over and over, and THEN you usually forget anyway? Well when I was packing plants Monday all day I kept telling myself NOT to forget the Thalia, well I was out watering today and I realized I forgot the Thalia. SOOOOOO if we are in another swap together I will remember I owe you all some and include it then, even if we get partnered in a swap or something I will remember to include it. I am sorry, I haven't been feeling well and I wanted to make sure I got that package shipped Monday and I busted my hinny off to do it and my SO even helped me this time which just does NOT happen. It just slipped my mind by the time I had the box what I thought was ready to ship, UPS closes at 6:30 and I got there about 6:10 so I was pushing it. I KNOW I had till Wednesday to ship but I needed to do it Monday. OK, don't hurt me, I really do try so hard sometimes. :/ Fran

Thank you.. Not too nosy, since I mention it plenty of times, here and there.. I was born in Kiev, Ukraine, the former Soviet Union.. as much as I felt I've moved on-we left when I was 18..this Maidan revolution in 2014 and everything that's followed was hard on me..you see, my childhood home overlooked Maidan( that was of course called differently, and I must say looked much much nicer then..it's like these urban planners compete how to make it uglier, really)..anyway when you see the place you were born, saw from your window, walked every day.. place that was your home..burning..you suddenly understand that you didn't move too far.. and no, you can't predict, until something like this happens. I really thought it's part of me, of my past, integral part, but not a home anymore. Israel is my home. we moved to Israel.. I spent there many years..then my ex got transferred here..I was hysterical and didn't want to go yet I went..very young kids, family..you know.. then they transferred us back I was so happy still wasn't a walk in the rose garden..as much as my previous employers loved me-they didn't hold space for me..:) so looking for new job and all that..you do start again, even if you left for some time and went back you still adjust. even when everything around you spells home. And Israel has this thing about it..you change, it changes, yet it's the only place on Earth that gives meaning to me being there, besides just being with the people I love anywhere else I won't say it's a Garden of Eden, yes? it can be downright scary..the bombings and all-I wasn't there(actually came to take care of my Mom, also in 2014- but they didn't get to Haifa then..was too far for their missiles..)..but I lived in Jerusalem through two intifadas..you understand that every day is a dying day(c)..yet you know..you continue..because -where else? and you have to stay human. there are two sorts of death, right? This is a very strange, magical place. People go crazy there. We even have "The Jerusalem Syndrome"..:) that some tourists get..need to be send to a hospital for some time, take meds you know..they start thinking they are Messiahs.. It's too old and seen it all. Jerusalem I mean. It doesn't care about you. And the sky is amazingly high there. But you can't stop caring about it. When I'm in Israel and it so happens I didn't go to Jerusalem-I feel I didn't fully go.. so.. sorry about the big lyrical off top..when my ex's bosses decided to send us here again I was very sad but less panicky..I thought "ok they're going to send us back again, as they did the first time" and then everything unfolded differently so..as they say in Russian fairy tales "for longer for shorter"..for now I'm here, and listen, I love it too. It's been many years already..I lived on two coasts..I think 7 years(altogether) on the East, and probably 7 on the West? goodness..time really flies I love West Coast much more first, it reminds me of Israel. The sky is high here too..:) and other things second, I'm plainly happier. on some important accounts but I will always want to go back If somebody translated Joseph Brodsky's poem(no.. he never been to Israel and never wanted to, and didn't feel any connection as per his interviews.. but since he was a genius poet he just knew certain things I guess...that's a poem about a desert)..in short if I find a good translation-I'll post it..the link I mean ok..that was really long..:)

Sometimes yorkies just think they are so tough don't they?
They have no fear. Daisy took on 3 raccoons!
And you'll get to flak from me about having big dogs in the house. I don't understand people that have dogs then make them live outside all the time....why have them.
My dogs live in the house all the time, and think they are people! LOL

Harry, 80+ pounds; he's just a little baby boy!

When they moved in here...it was supposed to be for a couple of months...That was in July.

Yes I'm getting a bit tired of it all...BUT....Nothing means more to me than my family and not having any strife between us all....So I do what I can to keep things working...if you know what I mean...

Someday it will be over...and I'll be glad I did what I did...untill then.....ARRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH....just letting out a little vent...lol

Jeff is giving up his hope for his new business...
I told him he doesn't have to give up his dream...but go ahead and get a job...work...bring in some money....and then see about getting his own if that's what he still wants...but don't give up your job until a business is bringing in enough money to support you.

His problem is he wants to start a business at the top . With a nice office and the works...

There is nothing wrong with running your business out of your home for awhile.

I'm just worried that when he does get a job and is ready to move, he'll have a hard time finding a place that will let him have those dogs...

Those are his kids..

Oh...and he has an interview on Tuesday...cross your fingers.

It's funny how little dogs go after big dogs. Yappy, snappy little dogs are always going after Loki when we are on our walks. I think they think they have something to prove. LOL Loki just looks at them.

Patti, I have always had big dogs in the house. My last lab Amos was 139 pounds of muscle and he was very careful moving aound the house but we kept things out of the way of his wagging tail. That thing was weapon. LOL With Loki I have given up having a coffee table with my crystal on it because he likes to toss his babies around and catch them and he is so entertaining to watch.

Yes Patti, Harry and BeeGee share a baby bed mattress. I worry about their comfort. LOL When we moved into the new bedroom, it was time for the dogs to sleep on their own. Two big dogs, two big people, too crowded in the bed! LOL

The floors are so cold; I want them to sleep comfortably. They can sleep on the mattress, in the kennel, or on two of the recliners. BeeGee is getting a heated pad tomorrow, too.

Shoot, with six yorkies and four tundra shepherds, ALL of whom live in the house with us, you won't get any flak from me! LOL!

Typically large dogs are extremely tolerant of foolish yorkies, at least mine are. Our rescues have come from a vast assortment of situations and most of them are pretty foolish when it comes to territory ... they each think they are the alphas. You're right to be cautious about the bigger dog, but I'm betting he wouldn't do anything more than scare the bejesus out of the little guy.

I remember when Woofman (165 lb tundra shepherd) "took down" Rocky (20 lb yorkie) it scared me to death! Rocky was diabetic and was on a special diet food which he detested. One day he snuck into the pen where Woof's food was, and started eating out of it, Woof growled his warning and Rocky leaped for the throat. He wasn't giving up that tasty food without a fight! Woof used his big ol' foot to pin Rocky on the floor and then did the snarly-in-your-face thing that dogs do, baring his teeth and making very nasty noises. Rocky wouldn't submit, but when Woof let him up again he did walk (quickly) away from the food dish and never tried to eat out of it again.

Yorkies really don't notice that they're shrimps.

Patti, My yorkies thought they were so tough, and big. They'd charge to the door when someone would knock, yipping all the way. LOL Funny little stinkers.
