I am trying to decide how many recessed lights to use for lighting my dinette area. This is a 10' x 13' area just off the kitchen that is open to the kitchen and an adjacent family room. We have a 3.5' diameter dinette table with four chairs near the middle of the room. This is the area we want to have good light. We also have cabinets and a counter lining one side.

We were thinking of using the Cree LR6 LEDs. How many 6" cans do you think will light the place adequately? I thought perhaps 3 but my wife says 4 because "even numbers look better". I just don't want the room to be too bright. We do plan on using a dimmer.
